I think it was just a greatest hits. Everything about it just reeked of bland, easy listening dullness though. I don't even think my dad liked the tape, I think he just continued to play it because I hated it.

Hypnotic. Wonderfully hypnotic. Guitars and musical explosions. With stomp. So fucking glad this exists.

The Boos. Easily the most underrated of all 90s British bands. Also the best. Wildly experiment guitar pop, but they could bring the thunder and guitar terrorism. Fucking great, great songs.

I'm a fan of the homeless man playing acoustic guitar on the intro. I'm a fan of the dumb beats that perforate the intro. I'm a fan of the synth strings and giant electric guitar chords. The violin brings the ache. But that vocal takes the cake. Good work Sice. Very good work.

"Ok Martin, right before you play your epic guitar outro, we're going to break and sing a beautiful harmony. And the lyric we're going to sing is 'Faye Dunaway', cause it'll sound awesome."

I think my favourite Boos song would have to be Upon 9th and Fairchild. Wonderful stuff.

Funny. I went right from listening to "Barney & Me" to "Upon 9th and Fairchild."

Filthy funk. Tina is a goddess. Ike was a genius and scumbag. Great song.

Petty knocked it out of the park twice on album #1. Everyone knows "American Girl." Brilliant tune. I think he hit the ball a little deeper on this one.

Had a buddy play this for me last month. I thank him. It's brilliant. That voice/delivery is fantastic. As is the recording. Can't stop playing it. Bitter as hell. Great song.

So, there are 2 versions of this tune. The overblown recording from 1987, which is awesome, and the restrained, original version from 1982. Restraint serves the song well. Very well.

One of those lost 90s gems. Best tune from their debut. Hell, best tune they ever wrote. Then drugs, jail, all that fun stuff. Still, a great song.

When I hear this I hear "Guns & Roses" & "The Manics." What a great tune.
