The Police Tour '07 - Part 3

The friendliest place on the web for anyone that follows U2.
If you have answers, please help by responding to the unanswered posts.
Man I'd love to see Elvis Costello again...shame that I don't want to spend as much as the Police are asking :(

I'm a little annoyed that a) they're returning to Detroit in a smaller venue than the Palace (I like DTE better, for some things, anyway) and b) they're coming with Elvis Costello, who I have never had the pleasure of seeing live yet.

I'm not willing to shell out the cash to see them a second time. Bastards.

Is this the highest ticket price ever for an Amphitheater(plus 10 or so arenas) tour?

Usually the big-ticket guys like Macca, Madonna, Eagles and Stones stay from from lawn seats in North America.

I think Bon Jovi has gone over $100 for "sheds".

Hey, you gonna go again? Presale starts tomorrow!!

yeah i am! but i dont have the presale code, i might end up getting them from a ticketbroker

If you have a CITI card, you can buy tix in the presale. My friends bought some for the Hollywood Bowl, and I tried this morning as well. Just not sure yet how much money I want/willing/can afford to pay to see the Police again. Main reason is to see Elvis. Sting, Andy & Stewart are just a bonus

The H-Bowl has tix on the side, with fees at about $115 (F2). 2-3 sections over (more centered but same "level"), the seats are $170. Or Terrace Box seats are $320 :yikes: 2 sections back would be about $60. I hate this! Oh, and whoever mentioned Bon Jovi, their ticket prices are rather high. I checked ebay, and if they stay at these rates, I won't be going to that show :(

i want to go again but im not willing to pay $400 or something from a ticketbroker. and i want good tix this time b/c i had horrible ones before. But i never even paid that much for U2....
Elvis plus the police, cant miss it!

Those are higher prices than I'm willing to pay, especially since I'd mainly be going to see Elvis Costello. Maybe if I'm lucky someone will be dumping tickets on ebay not long before the show. Otherwise, I'll skip it.

There were plenty of empty seats at the show I saw in LA last June.
How is that possible, the gospel tells us the shows were sold out:

Just wait for a year or two until Costello tours again with the Imposters and see them for like 40$.

It's interesting that they are playing smaller venues this time around.

The Tweeter Center in MA will be a cool place to see them.

What's the average venue size this time around? I saw them at the Xcel Center in St. Paul last time, which is a 17,000 seat place.

I'm with you there martha! :hi5:
There were definitely empty seats at Dodger Stadium when we were there. Heck, hubby paid $10 a ticket to sit at the very top of the stadium. That's the only way he was going. And ebay was flooded with tix for the show as well.

As for the Hollywood Bowl, I believe it's capacity is about 17,000-20,000

Maybe to scalpers then who couldn't get their money back. You guys can quote stats all you want. It won't change the truth.

I was being sarcastic. Sting2/Strongbow kept on quoting that the edmonton stadium show was sold out.

I don't think he's posted since the new round of dates.

Most of the shows have no seats behind the stage, plus EC is worth a couple thousand tickets in each market more than Fiction Plane were in 2007.

I haven't followed this thread at all but just saw that The Police/Elvis Costello are coming to Red Rocks on a weekend I'm already planning to be in Denver. I already know EC will rock, but just so I don't have to scroll through all these pages, how are the Police on this tour? Should I get tickets? Thanks. :)

Get a cheap seat and enjoy the show. I thought they sounded great last June.

They're playing DTE this time? That's surprising. I'm really not a fan of DTE, but I missed them the first time around.
Why can't they just play The Palace again?:scream:

I just checked out prices and see there's a special presale for Citibank members, so I plugged in my info and was offered 19th row (which is great at RR) for $229. . I don't think I like them that much. I'll see what else they've got.

Here are the totals for The Police Tour so far. Results are now in for all the New Zealand, Australian, Singapore, China, Japan and Hawaii shows. There are 3 shows that have been played(Aarhus Denmark, Lisbon Portugal, Mexico City), but not reported yet. So, their figures are not apart of the totals at the end of each section yet.

Also, a word about "CAPACITY" and "SOLD OUT". CAPACITY is set by the promoter and sometimes is not the FULL CAPACITY of the Venue being played. "Sold Out" refers to the sell of each ticket made available for sale, and does not, necessarily, refer to the selling of each potential seat in the venue being played.
