I did. It reminds me of Siamese Dream, which probably is not an expected comparison, but it definitely has a 90s-retro vibe to it.

Considering the post before you linked the stream is me mentioning that I thought the lead single had a Smashing Pumpkins-esque guitar sound to, it is quite expected.

I half expected the lyrics of the first song to begin "freak out/give in"

Ha, we're on the same wavelength, then. Regardless, I should have re-read before posting.

I might wait to get the CD before listening as it's only a couple of weeks now.

On the basis of just one listen, it seems to me that the new album is more consistent than the debut, but I'm not sure it has individual moments that are quite as good as the best the band's done previously. That said, Heart In Your Heartbreak has just kept growing on me, so no doubt the rest of the album will too.

I must admit I think it's a tremendous shame neither Say No To Love nor Lost Saint are on there, since they're both in my Pains top five.

"Who buys U2 records anyway? It's just music for plumbers and bricklayers. Bono, what a slob. You'd think with all that climbing about he does, he'd look real fit and that. But he's real fat, y'know. Reminds me of a soddin' mountain goat."
"And as for Bono, he needs a colostomy bag for his mouth."

Holy shit @ that review. Even his write-up of himself makes me want to kick him in the pants.

Yeah, that last paragraph alone is brutal. Not sure what that guy was talking about, but at least it's nice the album received a decent score.

I totally forgot this is out tomorrow. That'll make the day at work go a little better.

My copy won't arrive until Wednesday. Not sure why Amazon screwed up the release day for this one.

4/5 stars from Allmusic (better score than the last album).

Belong - The Pains of Being Pure at Heart | AllMusic

I keep forgetting that Flood produced this.
