There was an interesting article today in Popmatters about their lyrics. Not so much for the ranking, but for the analysis, which I really enjoyed reading. Love the title too.

Odd that nothing from Sad Songs appears on there. Available would be in my top two or three of Matt's lyrical turns.

That was a good read.

If I'd put anything from Sad Songs on that list, it would be Cardinal Song.

Yeah, that was a head-scratcher. Totally agree on Available, it has some of his best lyrics (the whole dress me down and liquor me up stanza is great). I'm also fond of some of the lyrics in Lucky You.

Dinner at my mom's was mainly my brother and I arguing loudly (because we had trouble will find me playing very loudly) as to which is better, high violet or alligator. He says alligator, and also counts pink rabbits as one of his favorites off trouble.

I really, really like high violet.

There was also a debate as to whether bowie's queen bitch sounds like mr brightside. I still do not hear it. Not at all. But my brother would fit in quite well around here.
