I bought Austin City Limits Sunday tickets, primary for The National. Can't wait.

My 9 year-old future brother in law went to Miller Park and now he's singing Abel and thinks alcohol is amazing. Pretty soon he'll want a Penn State brochure.

High Violet update: I dig it.

The drumming on the live version of Anyone's Ghost blows my mind every time. Its so subtly intricate. Perhaps Bryan's best drumming to date in my imnasho

Though the headline makes it sound like a given, which seems like it may not necessarily be the case after reading the article in full, it'd be pretty sweet to have The National guesting on Sufjan Stevens' new album...returning the favor and all for High Violet: Sufjan's New LP Features the National

Sweet. The soundtrack to The BQE was phenomenal, I'd like to see the accompanying film sometime.

Also, "Mr. November" -> "Abel" is a killer mix combo.

So I think I've spent enough time with High Violet now to properly evaluate it. Get ready:

I love it as much as their previous albums and refuse to rank them. It's different than its predecessor, sure, but much like Boxer, it came around at the exact point in my life to make it more special than it actually might be.

Just came back from their show, amazing as always. We got Available and Daughters of the Soho Riot, so I can't complain. Very special guests: Annie Clark joined them for Vanderlyle; she stayed on with Sufjan for Afraid of Everyone.

Matt was his usual self and actually climbed to the first balcony at Radio City Music Hall for Mr. November. That thing is humongous.

And Terrible Love continues to rock live.

What in the fuck are the final lyrics of England? Most sites have it has "Try to be nice stay the night with the sinners", but that doesn't seem right to me. Anyone have a different idea?
