I only have Streetcore, which I freaking LOVE.

So maybe I should add some more records to my Tower.com bag?

I was at that concert too. The Clash was my favorite band for many years. This will be well worth buying.

Raise a toast to Saint Joe Strummer, I think he might have been our only decent teacher.

So, has anyone listened to this yet? I'm curious as to how it sounds.

Stopped by Best Buy at lunch and they didn't have any copies...

Called my local independent store, and they have it though. I'll have to stop by after work.

that album is growing on me. you know how a song sounds strangely a lot better when you hear it unexpectedly, even if you don't particularly like it when you listen to it intentionally? i walked into a record store while that song was playing, and i was happy to hear it. and equally pleased when "sequestered in memphis" came up next.

basically, this thread reminds me i bought the future is unwritten dvd something like a month ago and still haven't watched it yet.

Solid review for it on Popmatters:

The Clash: Live at Shea Stadium < Music | PopMatters

I've only listened to it once so far, I thought the sound quality was quite good. Pretty similar to the Live: From Here to Eternity in that regard. I really liked Police On My Back, Tommy Gun, Career Opportunities, and Clampdown the first time through. Not sure what I think about this live version of Rock the Casbah, interesting.

I've failed to mention it, but I absolutely love the album cover. May end up being my computer background at some point, good stuff.

I don't have any of his solo stuff either but after I saw that documentary last winter (The Future is Unwritten) I wanted to buy everything he ever did. But I haven't yet.
