I have no particular argument for or against illegal downloading. Just, speaking for myself, I steal copious amounts of music every day because it's fun, it's easy, it's convenient, I enjoy it, and it's cheap. The same reason any red-blooded American nahn Utahn would do anything.

Yes, I most definitely concede that it's an apples to oranges question, but it was based less on the industry mechanics and more on your affinity for the genre.

Understood.

I'll put my responses to the moral dilemma within either medium in easy bulleted format

Film - "I feel I'm justified by particular means of availability and the extent to which I contribute to the market within and beyond reasonable means."

Music - "Ehhh, fuck it. *click*"

As perhaps the most well-publicized thief here, allow me to weigh in:

I've never downloaded a movie (other than The Room, which I have since bought) or a video game.

I don't necessarily condone downloading music, but the system I've established makes me feel better: download, listen, delete if I don't like, buy if I do. Now it's obviously not a perfect system and I don't download without a slight tinge of guilt. Obviously, running into a record store and yoinking an LP isn't really an option. But since this technology is available to me, I utilize it to both educate myself and make informed decisions on what to spend my money on.

I'll be actually buying the box-set, even if I can't necessarily afford it!

You should consider "weighing in" at some point as well.

That aside, well said, thanks for the contribution.

$9.75 was a small price to pay for a DVD which gives me tons of enjoyment (porn DVDs are like $40, so fuck that). Coupled with the fact that he signed it wishing my "drems" come true, it might be my best investment in a while.

That makes me so happy.

Speaking of porn, I wonder if everyone who's so adamant about paying for everything hasn't viewed their fair share of gratis hotties.

This. Funneling money to untalented fools isn't exactly a good use of positive reinforcement. That's a download if I ever heard of one.

I've gotten way more than $9.75 worth of enjoyment from The Room. Yeah, he's an idiot. But he's our idiot.

Dalton? Comment?

People still pay for porn?

Apparently that industry is being hit in a similar way the music industry was during the advent of Napster. Miss Impy and I watched some CNN thing on it. SG was a guest. Life was good.

V0 of The White Album apparently surfaced. Just grabbed it. Like Laz, I'm satisfied with everything from Rubber Soul on, including Past Masters. Those will be what I purchase.

Sure. But imagine how much more value you would have gotten if you paid $0.00 instead.

That way everybody wins.

I lol'd. There was also a good "Fapster" joke in there, if someone was inclined to make it.

Man, The White Album sounds a lot better. "Julia" is killing me all over again. One of my favorites.

"So I sing the song of lust. Laaaaaaaaance's Mom."

What, were you going to say it's somehow been improved?

These remasters are only going to broaden the scope of Macca's awfulness.

Of course not. It might be my most loathed of the songs on their albums Rubber Soul onward. Everything I can't stand about McCartney condensed in under three minutes.

But you'll be happy to know his occasional reverse blumpkins will be outweighed by your raccoon getting a bit rockier, if you get my meaning.

And I've probably quoted this before, but in that infamous Playboy interview where Lennon was apparently asked about EVERY Beatles song, when they mentioned Honey Pie his response was: "(laughing) I don't even want to talk about that."

Neither stereo nor mono remaster has showed up on What yet for Rubber Soul. They'll be there first, probably.

In fact, no mono remasters have surfaced yet. This gigantic mono box set in FLAC is probably fake.
