I'm not sure how much of this is actually indie, but here we go.

1. The Flaming Lips - The Soft Bulletin

4. Radiohead - Kid A

5. Super Furry Animals - Rings Around the World

2. Beck - Sea Change

5. The Roots - Phrenology

5. My Morning Jacket - Z

1. Sonic Youth - Rather Ripped

2. The Flaming Lips - At War With The Mystics

All of those are on major labels. Radiohead?! Come on. In Rainbows was their first indie release.

And Beck?

You had fucking Brian Wilson on your list. I don't care if Smile was released on an indie label. It's Brian Wilson.

Hey, he's his own man. Anyone that crazy has to be "indie" in some way.

Thanks for reminding me about My Morning Jacket, though. Their 2001 album At Dawn IS eligible, and I changed my list.

I actually had Smile in mind, but relented. It IS a great record.

Here, asshole. Some of these artists are big, but if they were on a an indie label, so be it. A bunch of others that seemed indie were actually on majors or subsidiaries, and disqualified. Some, like Super Furry Animals, were on and off indie labels, so were occasionally eligible.

Look, we all know that you are the type of douchebag that I would like to see die a slow, painful, and horrible death, but sometimes you come through.

BTW - Alice is one of my top 10 fav albums.

I'd be more likely to disqualify it on the grounds that all the material was written like 35 years earlier, but whatever. It's as singular and unique a vision as anything else that year, this decade, etc.

I thought most Waits fans preferred Blood Money, but glad we're in agreement here.

I don't think I've heard enough Indie for any of these years, but this thread will be perfect for compiling a list of good shit to check out.

So me banging your mom = Indie. That's going to make putting a list together real easy.

I've been thinking about this, and I'm not sure if it makes sense.

Are you saying that when you bang my Mom, you jizz in your pants? How is that possible? Are you saying that you jizz in your pants if you hear my Mom?

Or, does Impy jizz in his pants when you bang my Mom?

Please clarify.

The thought of Beav ever so sweetly Ram Jamming your mother does bring a smile to my face, but only because I picture you crying in the corner having to watch the entire thing.
