i'm fairly certain that i've made a swervedriver thread before.

i searched through like 40 pages of threads and didn't see one.
saw a bunch of nonsense and arguments and great stuff like that. good times.

anyway, we need a new swervedriver thread, and here it is.

i'll be brief.
they've got a new album coming 3/3. can't wait.
already heard a couple of new tunes - Deep Wound has been around for a few years. it's a real scorcher. gritty, tough, powerful. subtle melody. you know - swervedriver.

then they put out another track called 'setting sun' a few weeks ago. sublime, detailed, hazy, melodic. you know, fucking SWERVEDRIVER. woo! awesome.

so they let out a new song the other day. it's called 'Autodidact". i read a few things that have implied the band was going full-on back to the sound of their debut "Raise". now i can hear a bit of that in "Deep Wound", but this new one is totally "Ejector Seat Reservation", their brilliant and unknown (in the US) 3rd album. Hazy, psychedelic melodies/harmonies, power, tons of musical details interspersed with crushing outbursts. awesome stuff.

when i went to see them a few years ago - i brought the GF (now wife). she was the only girl there. i know i've typed that before on this board and told this story. i know there's another SWD thread out there.... let me know if you can find it. then we can delete this one and use that one. GO!

i have absolutely no idea what swervedriver sounds like, i just always think skrewdriver when i see them and stay away.

Agree with you on that. It's a great record- they should be proud of it.

If you're a fan of guitar rock and you don't know Swervedriver, I can't recommend checking them out strongly enough. High velocity, smart guitar music. Awesome stuff.
