So Amazon has reissues of Wild, Greetings, The River, and Nebraska. Looks like they are a 2014 remaster.

Was this just a quiet release I missed, or were they originally part of a package and are just now available individually?

They were released as a box set last year.

Listening to this today for the first time in a while. God it's good. Probably a top 10 album for me. It's so ridiculously overblown, but pulled off with perfection. How much fun is Tenth Avenue Freeze-Out? And how nice was the live version from their second-to-last tour, where they paused after the "and the big man joined the band" line.

This to me is the quintessential Bruce/E-Street track. Not anthemic like Born To Run, but just sounds like the best party with the best bunch of guys.

Prob my #1 Boss song, period.


And thanks Cori for the tip on those remasters. I got a used copy of Wild, Innocent... for like $8 including shipping. Almost got The River remastered as well but it was around $11 and I already own the old CD. I've never owned the other album.

Don't count on Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band to hibernate this winter as the boys are hitting the road in 2016.

Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band will embark on the nine-week The River tour on Jan. 16 in Pittsburgh. The announcement of the tour coincides with today's release of The Ties That Bind: The River Collection, a comprehensive look at the era of the 1980 The River album. Tickets go on sale Dec. 11.

Springsteen precedes the tour with a Dec. 19 performance on Saturday Night Live, his third appearance on the NBC show. While Springsteen has released similar packages around his seminal albums Born To Run from 1975 and Darkness On The Edge Of Town from 1978, this will be the first time the artist has toured specifically to coincide with the release of one of the sets.

Primarily with his E Street Band, Springsteen is one of the most enduring and prolific touring artists in music history, taking in more than $1 billion at the box office just since 2000, from attendance of 12.8 million from 564 shows reported in the past 15 years, according to Billboard Boxscore. Remarkably, Springsteen’s most recent tour was his highest-grossing ever, with the Wrecking Ball/High Hopes run of 2012-2014 (in support of two albums, but essentially one tour) taking in $422 million, with over 4 million attendance from 157 shows reported to Boxscore.

Each night of the River tour will be mixed for release on Live.BruceSpringsteen.net as high-quality downloads and CDs. Recordings will be available within days of each performance. The original The River Tour began Oct. 3, 1980, two weeks before the release of Springsteen's fifth album, and continued through Sept. 4, 1981. With sets that regularly approached the four-hour range, the 140-date international tour firmly established a reputation for Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band as marathon performers.

The Ties That Bind: The River Collection includes 52 tracks on four CDs with a wealth of unreleased material and four hours of never-before-seen video on three DVDs. It contains the original The River double album; the first official release of The River: Single Album; a CD of 1979/80 studio outtakes; a brand-new documentary about The River; and a coffee-table book of 200 rare or previously unseen photos and memorabilia, with a new essay by Mikal Gilmore. The set also includes a two-DVD film of never-released, newly edited multi-camera footage from a Nov. 1980 show in Tempe, Ariz.

The E Street Band's members are: Roy Bittan -- piano, synthesizer; Nils Lofgren -- guitar, vocals; Patti Scialfa -- guitar, vocals; Garry Tallent -- bass
guitar; Stevie Van Zandt -- guitar, vocals; and Max Weinberg -- drums; with Soozie Tyrell -- violin, guitar, vocals; Jake Clemons -- saxophone; and Charlie Giordano -- keyboards.

Springsteen’s Wrecking Ball and High Hopes tours were his first without 40-year saxophonist Clarence Clemons on board; current E Streeter Jake Clemons is the nephew of Clarence Clemons, who died in 2011.
