In all fairness, it was a tie; the order is chosen by alphabetical order. They're equally brilliant. And equally inferior to these two.

I kinda think this is the best final we've had yet, although the Over The Hills And Far Away/What Is And What Should Never Be final in the Zep survivor was a very pleasant surprise. I truly believe these are Bruce's two best songs, but sorry Atlantic City. BTR FTMFW.

I will admit that when there was a double elimination, I didn't waste time worrying about which one should be listed first on that "top 29" list.

While there is no denying that both of these songs are fantastic, we could have had a better final two. Atlantic City shouldn't have been this high, and while I understand Born To Run's place in rock history, and know full well it deserves to be here at the end, I rate other songs higher.

However, Backstreets has been kind of doing their own thing lately, with people simply rating each song from each album on a scale of 1-10, and I gotta say, their top 10 is quite close to ours (I think their results are a little better though - Racing In The Street FTW). They are currently on Tunnel Of Love, but here are the results so far (Born In The U.S.A. hasn't had its tally posted yet):

Other than Racing In The Streets being about 3 points higher than it should be, good job, Backstreets. Their top 11 is essentially the same as ours, even though, much as I love BTR, having the top 4 all be from the same album is rather absurd; he has such a rich catalogue.

Point Blank respect

I think their rankings are more or less right on. The top choice of each album done so far just happens to be my favorite from that album as well, or damn close. I'm particularly impressed with how The River songs are ranked, as that is almost right on with how I view that album. And these points are calculated from about 50-60 responses each time, so it's a good snapshot of what hardcore Springsteen fans are thinking.

Irishteen was doing a similar thing with the U2 catalogue in EYKIW, but I don't know what happened to it.

What a lousy final.

And fuck, I voted wrong. My vote should be for Atlantic City. I thought at the end we'd be voting for our favorite instead. So, uh, never mind.

eh, I saw this final coming before I ever started this thing.

life and a computer crash, I do believe.

Sorz, I meant to vote for Atlantic City, not sure why I was thinking this was a vote for your favorite round.

good result, i missed the last few.

this would have been my pick, one of the best songs of all time. OF ALL TIME.

i call dibs on running the next survivor!

Sometime if I ever get my premium membership back, I'd like to do a quick Cure survivor. But, I'm having doubts about participation at this point, so it will probably never be.

We got shitty participation in both the R.E.M. and Bruce survivors. I really don't see any other artist that we haven't already covered getting enough participation to make it fun. I think the Survivors are dead.

well that's why i never made a thread.

i was thinking either Coldplay - which i think would generate a lot of support and would be over quickly - or Pearl Jam - but the people who regularly post in that thread probs wouldn't be around to vote every round.

In a perfect world, a Pearl Jam survivor would be great. Also, it would give me an excuse to work through their discography in full.

Then again, a perfect world would have so much going for it that I probably would never get around to hearing Riot Act.

They're pretty much my favorite band in the world, but I wouldn't have much interest in a Pearl Jam Survivor and I think it would probably have the lowest voter turnout yet.

It was the Hey Jude fadeout of survivors. Took forever to finish, while slowly fading into nothing.
