an acquaintance of mine posted the line up for this festival on another acquaintance's facebook page... i didn't believe it at first, because you only see line ups this good in America. but holy fucking hell, it is real.

usually held in Byron Bay, it's moved to Woodford in Queensland this year and i thought i'd make this thread to see if there's any other interest amongst the throng of Aussies on this board.

to recall one of the more sophisticated hits of last deacde, i jizzed in my pants.

it runs from the 30th July to 1st August.

event only tickets are $360, with camping an extra $100. might have to pull my finger out and work my ass off.

i am praying to God, Ra, Allah, Muhammed, David Bowie & Morgan Freeman that i can find just one person who would come with me. i do have family in Brisbane & Kingaroy, so that's a positive.

ohh shit :hyper:

it's traditional home is Byron Bay is it not monkeyskin?

i'm with you Mr V, it's going to cost a fucking buttload but it's too good to miss.

to be honest i'd settle for seeing LCD and FR sideshows, but i'm not sure how likely that is... as a student I want to travel as little from the GC as I can...

want to see all of these.

I only heard part of an ad on JJJ tonight and wasn't sure what the festival was... I was hoping it would be touring.

I'm not so keen on going all the way up to Queensland, especially since I was only there last year and plan on going to WA instead. I'd consider an interstate trip if it were NSW or Vic. But then again, I'd do anything to see heaps of these bands - the only one of that list I've seen live is Empire of the Sun (who were awesome).

Wish I knew more people up in QLD. However, if an interference trip could be planned, I'd be in on it.

well it looks like i'm going :D going to cost about a grand, but when i look back in ten years i think i'll look back fondly on it.

i'm driving, so Bonnie and V feel free to join me in convoy. or, as Hot Chip say, you ride, we ride, in my ride.

line up is insane, dunno if i'll go,but Ash, Dick ashCroft and Grizzly Bear, oh yeah!!!

Might be checking Miami Horror at the Corner next month anyway

Easily the best Australian festival line up in forever.

I've been to a couple of Splendours, and the line up is always very decent, usually much better than BDO's anyway (not too hard). The good news about this line up is that it is light on bogan bands, thus hopefully limiting the drunk/aggressive/bogan element of the crowd that can make up a decent %, and make it feel a bit like being stuck at a BDO for three days.
