Hi, Violet
This albums year-by-year business is too damn hard for me. Think I'll try songs instead. Consider it a mix of sentimental (and thus quite predictable) favourites and treatises nailed to church doors.

Still with gaping holes because, well, that's how it goes.

not bad... not bad.

i'll have to summon some energy to compile a list of mine.

As an aside, I came very close to putting 'Amazing' by Alex Lloyd under 2001... in that way that you sometimes stand near a cliff edge at some tourist spot and picture just throwing your wallet and then yourself right off into the abyss. Not even in a suicidal way, just in a, wow, what if I did that? way.

How are you guys looking at songs or albums from each year? Are you using what you have in iTunes, or just using Google and looking through the oodles and oodles of albums/songs that came out that year?

Because I'd like to do this, but jesus, it sounds exhausting.

It is fucking exhausting, but speaking personally, I don't even have itunes, or anything like it. I just sit here and try to think of all the stuff that really has stuck with me, and then, if I can't remember offhand, look up what year it was released in.

Oof, that sounds even worse. I'd hook up my iPod and see what I could come up with, but my iTunes is hosed right now. Oh well.

Same. I could do it for the last few years but not up til I was born.

I won't even attempt to do this, but I do agree that Marquee Moon is hands down the best song of 1977. It runs laps around everything else.

I'd still take Marquee Moon, if I'm being honest. One is top 10 all-time, the other is more like top 20.

1977 was a great music year. Lots of good transitional music being released and genres being birthed.
