I don't think Jon Bon Jovi would name-drop a Jean Renoir film, but ok.
Unless they specifically said so, I doubt that it's deliberate.

And where else would that phrase come from? Bono isn't a big Styx fan.
Pretty sure Bono was just adopting a phrase that's become well worn over the years. It's not quite a cliche, but I've heard it many times before.
If you're luckySo...if I ordered the cd on U2.com, will I get it by next Xmas?

So a weird thing happened today. Out of nowhere Landlady got stuck in my head and it wouldn't leave, specifically the part that Laz mentioned where Bono sings "The landlady shows me the stars up there/I’m weightless/Weightless when she is there".
This is so true. I hope this album is a bridge between the commercial intentions of the last few records and what could be a creative swansong in a few yearsThe sales forum is freaking out because the album is tanking, but it's honestly a good thing. U2 should stop killing their legacy with crappy radio bait singles like Best Thing and Get Out and focus on making music for themselves. It's time to let commercial ambitions go. Imagine what NLOTH would have been like had they stopped caring a decade ago.
Or, instead of choosing the worst songs on the album for singles, they could choose the best ones. Crazy idea, I know, but I think it’s worth a shot.
IMO Summer of Love is easily the catchiest thing on the album, and a damn good song on top of that.
Is it tanking? I thought I read a Billboard article the other day that said it was heading to No. 1.The sales forum is freaking out because the album is tanking, but it's honestly a good thing.
