Thanks quite a bit! And actually, no, I'm a guitar player, though I played the piano on that song. My brother helped me figure out how to play what I wanted it to sound like and I spent a week teaching myself those lines. And that's the extent of my piano-playing abilities.

Feel like I'm posting here a lot (because I am), but these are new, and quite different. Also, am using my electric guitar and bass much more. I am getting used to the equipment a bit more.

feedback is always welcome. Mike

Wait, that's you? I'm impressed. Watched this bit on youtube and it seems like you are very level-headed in the way you view the music business...

I like "Taking Bob Dylan." It's a nice pop song with a good hook.

Foosteps
(Mr. Mellancamp, Mr. Springsteen where are you & The E Street Band where are
you?)

Teddy's Song
(Pure Mahler, W. K. Mahler to be fair.)

Act Of Mercy
(Why am I remembering "Stairway To Heaven" by Led Zeppelin & "The Fever" by
Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band mixed with U2 & "Mercy" & Melissa
Etheridge & "Mercy"?)

Sister I Believe
(C-Lebrity I'm not but Bruce Springsteen "Nebraska" meets "You Take My
Breath Away" by Queen. I think.)

Something About Tomorrow
(I can imagine Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band with The Miami Horns.)

Rip It
(Remember Pearl Jam & "Given To Fly"? Did "Adam Raised A Cain" by Bruce
Springsteen come to mind?)

A very good news read:

Do you feel vindicated after reading this?

Hey guys, total dumbass i created my own thread!!

My name is yemcy, im not really a newby as my posts indicate!! i'm ashamed to say that i've been a lurker for a few years but i decided to start posting!!

i am the lead guitarist in a band called The 925s, currently based in holland!! we are signed to a label have toured with the oldies golden earring and played support shows including The Fratellis, The Black Kids and played 5 shows with We Are Scientists on their latest european tour.

I've been a life long (well as long as i can remember being 22) u2 fan and between the edge and jonny greenwood inspired me to pick up the guitar!

we are up and coming in holland belgium and germany and currently in talks with universal and sony about a prospective 2nd album deal! so hopefully i will get the chance to follow my hero's footsteps!

please check us out on The 925s on MySpace Music - Free Streaming MP3s, Pictures & Music Downloads.... or The 925's - Official Website...

please leave me some feedback if any of you guys are interested, would be great to hear from anyone!!

thanks to all..

If you appreciated "Tunnel Of Love" & "Nebraska" by Bruce Springsteen for
it's vocal styles and stark and in love story telling.

Hi, I recently started my own thread on my music, but was kindly directed to this thread. :)

I am a songwriter, and have so far, in total, written 97 songs.

I have five main albums (and other additional songs too), 97 songs in total so far.

I recorded my music in my room, in which I play all the guitars as well as sing. (Drum loops are from my software.)

My main influence is U2. Other influences are Coldplay's early stuff, Oasis, REM, etc.

My songs are a big part of my life and it would be great to know what people think to them.

Here's the link:
www.myspace.com/davejarvismusic

I'm curious to know what people think to my music, especially people that are into U2 because they are indeed my main influence.

Here's a link to some of my stuff. My most recent (added tonight) is Trapped. It's a synthy arrangement that is there to get some ideas flowing. I like the potential it has. There's other stuff there too. I do a ton of instrumental stuff since I can't sing very well. I do sing on most occasions though. Feel free to check it out!
