Are you familiar with Nick Drake? Because he has three albums that will deliver that. They were a huge influence on Sea Change. Speaking of which, it's a shame that Pink Moon was overlooked.

I think there are some on that list that, at the time, I wouldve included, but they just didnt have the staying power for me. for example, I would never pull out Nevermind and sit and listen to it these days. That might be a bad example, as nobody can deny the importance of that album (though some muppet at a party once tried to tell me that the offspring was a more influential band in the 90s than Nirvana). But you know what i mean.....I guess thats no better than RS going back with their revisionist pens and increasing scores based on events after an albums release. (did they not do that with both Nevermind and OK Computer??)

Anyway, Rolling Stone is one of the last places I'd ever look for reviews.

There are quite a few on that list that I was tempted to add, but they just werent quite there. Dog Man Star in particular. I loved that album, but there were a few tracks that didnt quite do it for me. I'm surprised you included Coming Up. I remember being quite disappointed with it. A few really catch tunes, but nothing with the gravitas of Dog Man Star
