Bins? The record store in Chicago we went to last year had us all stand in a line and let us look at the list and tell them what we wanted (to which they responded "nope, sold out" to nearly every one). Ah Fort Worth, I miss you ever so much during this time of year. What with your still having all deals available at 3PM sitting in milk crates on the floor

"Is David Bowie Dying?" doubles as a great song too.

Yes!
That's my favorite of all their songs they put out last year.

Have started early as all the stores are offering 15-20% off everything. For Emma, Forever Ago, Teen Dream, In An Aeroplane Over the Sea and Kid A all in the swag bag.

Plus I got mint copies of Led Zep IV ($15) and Darkness on the Edge of Town ($1!) last weekend, get in.

You can stream the Feistodon tracks on Pitchfork right now. They're pretty damn good. Might warrant a purchase.

Is there a cooler band? I mean, really. This is getting ridiculous.

Mine too. I'm very unhappy about this. In the span of ten years I went from having six great stores (three in my town, the other three in the town 15 miles over) to just one-- because I refuse to count fucking best buy. I miss the days where I used to trash media play for being nothing but a giant mainstream bullshit store with a weak collection. Hell, I'd take them back in a heart beat now.

I'm going to either

1. sneak out of my class trip to New York (we'll be at the Whitney for many hours longer than I can stand museums) and walk a mile ish to the nearest record store (Academy, I think)

or, 2. stay behind and be at Soundgarden really fucking early.

Though really, I'm just excited that places near me are having discounts. I'll deal with the special release stuff when I get there. Don't know if I can afford it.
