Waterloo had at least one. I wasn't fortunate enough to come away with it.

$29 for 18 records after stopping by Numero, many of them favorites. Today is kicking ass so far, time to pick up some RSD exclusives.

Sweet haul, Impy. How much did you pay for that copy of Rubies, BTW? :D

I saw a couple for $35 and hesitated. Seemed high to me, and I suspect they'll be around. Missed out on everything else I was looking for.

Holy fuck.

The Cure - Entreat ($22)
Destroyer - Rubies Remaster ($22)
Gene Clark - One In A Hundred/She's The Kind of Girl ($8)

And then, from Numero Group, totaling $29:

John Coltrane - My Favorite Things
Bruce Springsteen - Tunnel of Love
Sly & The Family Stone - There's A Riot Goin' On
The Mahavishnu Orchestra - The Inner Mounting Flame
Marvin Gaye - Here, My Dear

A butcher cover? :D

Ha, I wish. But the track listing is so superb that I'm just happy to have it in any capacity.

Apparently, I got a damn good deal on Rubies.

Haul:

And here is how my copy of Heady Fwends turned out:

That first disk kinda looks like someone puked up a bunch of blue shit.

Ha, I suppose it does. But the good news is that the album itself is pretty damn good.

Yeah, you guys are confirming suspicions I started having last year: one of my local shops is jacking up prices on RSD merch. I can't say I blame them too much; I'm sure their business is scraping by like all record stores these days. But it leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

I ended up just taking advantage of another shop's sale to pick up other stuff:

Grimes - Visions, vinyl
Pixies - Trompe le Monde cd
Big Star - Third/Sister Lovers cd

Will Heady Fwends be released on cd or in some lossless digital form? Or will it be solely vinyl?

That's pretty shady of them re: prices. Mine were:

Heady Fwends - 37.99
Krokodil - 5.99
Zou Bisou Bisou (not an RSD item) - 8.99
Sprawl II - 10.99
Hvarf/Heim - 24.99
Arctic Monkeys single for a friend - 8.99
Destroyer for the Cobb Man - 24.99

And Heady Fwends will be on iTunes sometime next month. Not sure about lossless.

I'm going to have to take some pics of this Rockabye Baby vinyl, because it's literally the most adorable thing I've ever seen. The sleeve to it is a Snakes and Ladders game board. Also, the vinyl itself is white, which I wasn't expecting, and is really nice. My future child is one lucky son of a gun.

If he or she writes one damn line about shooting stars, they'll be grounded for a month.

Writing with a 1950s beatnik vocal affectation = 2 months.

Just dropped off Cobblerino's letterbomb copy of Rubies at the post office. Who knows when the carrier kangaroo will finally arrive at his doorstep.

Destroyer and some bonus Anthrax, I assume.

And I don't mean the band.
