thank you for posting this article. I admire the fact that they are not afraid to explore or invent new options to release material to their fans. It is always nice to read what they were thinking behind this process.

Sorry, I wasn't there for a long time... Did you hear that Radiohead released their concert that was not long ago. I paid attention to this because it is FREE to download on the special site in any format you like. Personally, I'm waiting for avi-format-version, because, on the one hand, I'm not fan of Radiohead, but, on the other hand, it's interesting for me to watch the concert made from fan videos.

Has anyone listened to the Phil, or should I say "Phillip," Selway album? It was much stronger than I had anticipated - very pastoral in its mood.

Yeah I listened to it a few times. Nothing spectacular but pretty good indeed.

Radiohead ‘Could Scrap Album’ | Radiohead | News | MTV UK

Quote:
Radiohead are reconvening on Monday after a summer apart to decide the future of their next album.

Drummer Phil Selway has admitted the Oxford band are unsure if the follow-up to In Rainbows is ready for release or even if it will ever see the light of day.

“We've been working on it on and off for a year now. And we've moved a long way,” the drummer explained. “But we've had a break over the summer from it, so we're getting back together next week and listening to it with fresh ears. And who knows how we'll respond to it. It's all up in the air.

"We might get back together on Monday and after discussing stuff we might just throw this all out and say maybe we need to go back to the drawing board,” he continued. “Who knows? It's all up in the air at the moment."

Selway revealed the songwriting process has been “quite the opposite” from their last LP. "We've used a very different methodology than In Rainbows. But that's just like every record we do – the pendulum always swings back the other way from the previous record."

He added the band didn’t feel pressured to repeat ‘pay what you think it’s worth’ scheme they pioneered for their 2007 release. "I don't think we're feeling encumbered by that. That method of release was something that really excited us at the time. And it felt very appropriate to In Rainbows. But we've done that. And whatever we finish will probably lead us in a very different direction again in terms of how we release it."

They should tour with the new songs and let us decide.

Is that a bad sign to have an album that you could just "throw out"?

Larry has turned it into a sport of sorts, very similar to shot put.

Jonny Greenwood: We’re finishing new album, huge tour to follow

Jonny Greenwood has talked about Radiohead’s upcoming record. The guitarist said that the band are finishing the record.

Speaking to Rolling Stone Italy, mainly about his work on the Norwegian Wood score (more on that later), Jonny said on the status of LP8: “We’re finishing it, then we’ll do a huge tour.”

Jonny couldn’t say much more about the details, mostly because he claims to be the ‘irritating lazy child who’s not involved in the bigger picture’, but it will have 10 tracks (maybe a few more). The band is still undecided on the actual release of the album. Jonny called the pay-what-you-want release of ‘In Rainbows’ at that time an interesting experience.

Maybe we'll have a U2 and Radiohead album sandwich in 2011

Good news, and that's an understatement. I've actually been on a big Radiohead kick the last week or so. I found out that there are a bunch of pro-shot Radiohead concerts in their entirety on YouTube. Did you guys know about this? It's an embarrassment of riches. There are also a few of their long documentary/studio things on there. I don't know who uploaded them, but he/she is awesome. For example, here is their full hour and a half set from Glastonbury 2003, in damn good quality:
