Singer-songwriter Vic Chesnutt dies at 45 | Ministry of Gossip | Los Angeles Times

One of my faves, he recorded with M. Stipe:

Seriously sad.

I bought a tape of his back in the 90s because of the REM connection (never would have heard of him otherwise, probably). He had a rather unique voice.

I am a fan. I saw him perform twice. A lot of talent.

I heard him interviewed on NPR recently. He was complaining about his Health Care problems.

Very sad news, here. Couldn't and didn't, at first, believe this. Awful.

This is indeed sad. He was a real talent and well liked and respected in the music industry. I wouldn't have happened across him I don't think if it weren't for Michael Stipe. The world lost a great number of talented individuals in 2009.
