I came to say that there are a large amount of fantastic songs on Murmur.

Have a nice day.

Wow, that had me laughing, u2pm. Talk about the passion you have for this album. I may have to make a pilgrimage to find the deluxe edition. Perhaps if we walk or catapult over to graywhale or some other indie music store they might have it. I'm just tired sitting still and shaking through the poor sound quality of my old copy. I can't wait until I have that perfect circle of remastered R.E.M. in my possession. I will have no reason to listen to the free radio anymore.

Post of the week for me. I shudder to think how long that may or may not have taken you though.

UiU b crazaaaay.

I still don't have the fancy deluxe version, because it's been $30 every time I've seen it somewhere, but I figured this thread was as good as any to let everyone know that Murmur is good.

Ha ha thanks, probably ten minutes...I couldn't figure how to fit Moral Kiosk or West of The Fields into it. I was really just going to say "Talk About the passion", but then I thought I'd add a few more.

Just a note that Best Buy has a sale this week on several 2 disc special editions, and Murmur is one of them. It's only $14.99. That is an absolute steal.

Some other good choices available too for the same price, like Under A Blood Red Sky, War, JT, Electric Ladyland, Odelay, Who's Next, etc. You won't find a better price than this.

Thanks for the heads up! I'll know where I'll be visiting this evening.

Thank you, thank you, thank you. I've been gnashing my teeth over this one and the $30 tag for a while. It's about time to update the old cassette...

Apparently the sale is going for more than one week.

It is indeed. And the sound quality was unbelievable, much better than I thought it would be.

Same here. I was even listening to it on my crappy work headphones, and it still sounded great.

Just wanted to make sure that you guys know about the Reckoning reissue that's coming out this month. It's scheduled for the 23rd and includes a live show just like Murmur did. It's being advertised on the band's official site as a 25th anniversary edition, so it looks like we'll only get one IRS album per year. I wasn't sure if they would just make a big deal about Murmur and then reissue the others more quickly, the way that U2 started to do after the 20th anniversary edition of The Joshua Tree.
