There's a funny story floating the net bout how several years ago in Minneapolis he knocked on the door of a Jewish family, and I think it was on Yom Kippur.... LOL.

If Prince knocked on my door, it would mark the first time I invited a Jehovah's Witness into my house. If he happened to bring a guitar along, it'd be on. As one of my favorite bloggers says jokingly, "God is really hoping Prince comes around, so Heaven will rock even harder."

wonder what the new stuff will sound like!

I miss the older (years) stuff:

Purple Rain
When Doves Cry
Little Red Corvette
Sign O The Times
The Beautiful Ones
I Would Die For You

Wow the list goes on, as to ultimate favs!

I personally thought the Batman theme sucked! And Purple Rain was a great album. This guy has explored.

I always find songs like 'Sexy MF' really funny to listen to and vid hilarious to watch! you can just FEEL him wanting to tear his clothes off and bonk the car if he could! LOL!

If this article is in any way close to being accurate, I'd say there's not much merit to this statement.

I'd attribute (perceived) minor slumps in the past few years more to marital troubles and ending relationships than anything to do with religious affiliation.

He sounds right where he wants to be now. I'm glad for him, even if I personally will likely never go back...he's found his balance, which is hard to do with that group.

Prince's last few albums have been excellent, so I'm really looking forward to this. He went through a period where he was putting out utter sh*te, so I'm glad that he's back.

I agree bout the distractions, the death of his infant son among them, and then 2 divorces that may have contributed 2 his lack of focus, if U wanna call it that.

Prince's new album to be exclusively sold at Target stores

Quote:
Prince partners with Target, sets release date for 3-disc set

Forget purple -- Prince’s favorite colors are likely to be red and white this spring.

The musician has selected Target as the sole retail outlet for his three-disc album, which is set to be released March 29 at the big box retailer's nearly 1,700 outlets nationwide, and online at target.com.

The offering will come as a three-disc bundle: two original studio albums -- "LOtUSFLOW3R" and "MPLSoUND" -- and a third disc by Prince’s latest protégé, Bria Valente (Prince also contributed music to Valente's debut).

The entire collection will retail for just $11.98.

Prince first revealed he was in talks with a “major retailer” earlier this year during a chat with The Times’ Ann Powers. Some had speculated that he might go with Best Buy for the exclusive, but the “Purple Rain” purveyor must have seen something he liked in Target’s proposal. Both Target and Best Buy share something in common with the multi-instrumentalist: roots in Minnesota.

Retail exclusives were major news in 2008. Best Buy gained headlines for its exclusive for Guns & Roses’ anticipated “Chinese Democracy” release, and AC/DC had one of the year's top-selling rock albums in "Black Ice," a Wal-Mart exclusive. Not to be left out, Target handled Christina Aguilera’s greatest hits package in 2008.

It’s not yet known if Target will get behind Prince’s triple threat the same way it did with Aguilera last year, when it ran an aggressive television campaign for “Keeps Gettin’ Better: A Decade of Hits."

Regardless, Prince may not need commercials to sell his new material: He appears to be in the mood to gig lately (the artist has played two shows in the last week or so in the Los Angeles area). Could a tour be in the works?

Expect hints of music from all three discs to possibly leak in the coming weeks at Prince's developing website, Lotusflow3r.com.

Prince: Lotusflow3r/MPLS Sound

The master returned this week with new material, sold exclusively in the U.S. at Target. Check it: THREE albums for $11.99. Take that, Radiohead and Nine Inch Nails!

The primary LP is Lotusflow3r, which is a pretty eclectic affair with some trippy, oldschool Santana-like stylings, along with your typical Prince mixture of rock, funk, and R&B.

MPLS Sound is a bit more stripped down, live-sounding affair which also features repeated usage of Prince's processed "Camille" vocals (which resurfaced after years of absence on the 3121 a few years ago).

The third album is more of a "bonus disc", credited to Prince's new female ingenue, "Bria Valente". Haven't heard it yet but the album appears to be mostly written and produced by Prince.

A more thorough write-up after I give the discs a few more spins.

Yes! Cannot wait to hear.

I requested "Purple Rain" to be played at my Prom... doubt it'll happen, but it's good to dream.

I am so jazzed for this. I'm going out to get them soon. I saw Prince on Leno last week, and he kicked a million different kinds of ass. Long live His Purpleness.

I went out and bought the albums the morning they were released. I love Lotus Flow3r and MPLSound, they're both brilliant in different ways.

As someone who was left cold by Planet Earth, I think the new albums are the best he's done since The Gold Experience or Emancipation. The man is back!
