Good song, but I don't like it as an album opener. I don't think everything needs to begin with bombast, but it just doesn't work for me.

It feels like a 3rd or 4th track.
"Taxi Cab" continues to blow me away. |

For a second I thought you were talking about Lance's Mom, but that's probably because my eyes spotted "blow" and "taxi cab" in the same sentence.

I'm glad I got this album despite the bad impression of Cousins. It's perhaps less likeable than their debut, but still enjoyable. |

I was flipping channels earlier today, and noticed Palladia is airing an episode of them playing on "Unplugged" (apparently they remove the "MTV" from it when it's on Pallasia). It was the last song, so I didn't hear much, but it looks like they're re-airing it a few times this coming week.
I agree Horchata is a surprising album opener, and Cousins wasn't a stellar first choice for a single. |

Cousins has grown on me somewhat. I really disliked it at first, but its got some good things going on. Its that final line of the chorus that really kills it for me. "I can feel it cooooming". Those lyrics and the lame melody seem like lazy songwriting to me

"Horchata" sounds more like Lance's Mom's classic Mediterranean dish, served best with lots of hummus.

Listening to the album right now for a second time. If "Giving Up The Gun" isn't a hit single, I don't know what is...
