Couldn't find any older thread dedicated to this band, so thought I'd start one.

I've recently been in a post punk/new wave kind of mood and I realized that I've never checked out this band. From what I read online, their 'OMD Singles' collection seemed to be a good place to start.

So I listened to it a couple of times... especially the arguably better first half of the CD. It is not bad. 'Electricity', 'Enola Gay' and the instantly familiar 'If You Leave' immediately stuck in my mind.

On second listen, I started digging 'Messages' and 'Souvenir' and to a lesser extent, 'Joan of Arc' and 'Maid of Orleans'.

Oh.. and 'Talking Loud and Clear' is so chill aaahhhh... But overall I'm still warming up to these songs, especially the second half of this collection. The songs sound quite dated obviously and it is taking time to really appreciate many of them.

Any fans here?

Yeah I'm not a huge fan of 'If You Leave' either. I mean it is catchy, sure but... eh. I think I'm liking their earlier new wave sound more.

Electricity, Messages and Enola Gay =
