Hi there, fellow Who Fans!

The Who was the first band I ever saw early on
( 3 >1968 pre-Tommy Live shows in the NYC area) that rose to the
ranks of incredible Superstardom !!!
(like another band
we all know and love  )

OMG I can't believe I found this!!!!!
Well, I should have tried looking this up a
l-o--n---g ago ( at least some years back as YT gained traction)
:lol::reject:

It seems the first up-loads by several people were 2 years ago for this particular show!

I was there. :drool::hyper:
It was an incredible show!
One of the Best Live R&R shows ever.

Pick your favs!
My suggestions are 1)listen to Pure and Easy-
even though it's explained that Pete's guitar messed up- you'll
hear The Ox playing Lead Bass as PT goes to get another one!

In fact the (different) version that I've listened to for - 40 years is the
extra show they added on 7-29-71 is because I taped it
does not have the guitar mess-up. While not as good as sound-wise
this tape (I was at the top row- 15th row for the 31st, tho )
it's still a Sonic Treasure!
Anyone who was there- you remember :grumpy:
it started to POUR, and cut the show short (compared to the 31st show) !!!

I actually did get the Bootleg Tape of the 7-31 show BUT the person
who was doing this misplaced the Second cassette
which contained the instrumental part of "My Generation into Naked Eye etc

Never let it be said that there aren't honorable people in that biz-
they sent me the 1 tape the had, explained they lost the 2nd one and gave me a refund for the lost half.

SO this late afternoon IS the very first time I have heard this
part of this show since that night! Holy moley!

Then I'd "fast forward" to "My Generation" and go through to the end!
It has a incredible version of "Naked Eye" included (plus Road Runner!) ...with all the fantastic
guitar solo's Pete threw in there. But they all are sounding magnificent
together which makes this an unbelievable show!

Enjoy!!!!

What was the set do you know? I'd pay extortionate amounts of money to go back in time and see these bands live (and also to get my hands on whatever the fuck Pete was smoking that lead to his Lifehouse idea)

 and

 OMG, cobl~~you spoke a *MAGCIAL*WORD*

Lifehouse

that is

well pete's gone artound changed it up some storywise....
I haVe an article from the NYTimes called
"From Tommy to Bobby" and talks about Lifehouse the general sttiory line< then>

Bobby being the character that helps build The Lifehouse
and runs th tech machines at "the Lifehouse where the audience and the band ( The Who ) gath4er!

SO that is the Version of Lifehouse I love!

as to your specific question

I beleive if you YT in who Forest hills Tennis Stadium 7-31-1971

you'll get the audio stuff AND the person who has pretty much
taped the whole show has a Set List further down in his YT post.

I forgot to add
I saw The WHo play Tommy at The Met Opera House and

evn better At The Filmore East in 1969!
a :giggle: Mind-blowing near :faint: show being completely straight!

HERE is the 7- 29 - 31 version
of Pure & Easy...

The Who - Pure And Easy - Forest Hills 1971 (2) - YouTube

....the one with the very cool
Townshend solo
after the ?2nd chorus & ?Bridge? before 3rd stanza- which I beleive is not on official lyrics sheet, that I've had on cassette for 40 yrs.
He didn't get to do this on 7-31-11 because of the guitar mess-up.

COBL>>>>
did you find the stuff on YT?

and c'mon WHo Fen chat it up a bit!
