Awesome to hear that you guys had a good time.

The man is playing the hits on this here tour. 10 of the 18 tracks from Greatest Hits on each set list? And then playing one of his (if not the) biggest post-Greatest Hits song in "You Don't Know How It Feels." Tommy is a fuckin crowd pleaser.

Also, "Honey Bee"

This tour is NOTHING compared to last time around as far as hits go

Last show of his I saw: Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers Concert Setlist at United Center, Chicago on July 2, 2008 | setlist.fm

Tickets for his six nights at the Fonda go on sale tomorrow. They're a hundred clams, but I think I might go.

I promised myself that the next time Tom Petty was at Summerfest I would finally make the journey up there. Looks like the time has come.

Well shit. Between having to help students (!) and captchas designed to make sure only scalpers get tickets, I was shut out. I may not gave tried as hard as usual, since tickets were a hundred clams.

Still. Dammit!

It seems like sux nights sold out in less that five minutes. It's a very small venue for him. It's where I saw Tame Impala and also Grinderman.

I'd pay that to see Petty in a small club. I love Tom Petty, have seen him several times. But it's pretty much the same run through the Greatest Hits everytime, and a few songs from whatever new album they're pushing. A club show might prompt some deeper cuts, which is always a good thing!

Even though it's basically the same show each time, he's so wonderful I can't help but go.

He's always been good every time I've seen him. I keep checking back for tickets. the venue he's playing here isn't exactly a club; it's just a small venue.

Divine Fits covered Petty on Jimmy Kimmel's show last night.

They were on Jimmy Kimmel and played a cover? That seems like an odd decision.

It was the second song they played on the night. Kimmel often has a band play one song, and then play another one as the show goes off-air.

The first song they did was their own song, "Like Ice Cream". And it was great.

I much prefer Britt Daniel's vocals to the other guy's. I actually think that Petty cover kinda sucks, mostly because I think the vocal kinda sucks.
