Your taste is impeccable.
Cerys Matthews' voice!

I have a confession to make- I was in two minds as to whether to buy it or not because I'd only heard about 3 Catatonia songs and usually whenever I buy albums based on the singles I tend to be really disappointed with it. In the end I decided to get it purely because it had 'Road Rage' on it. And I am so glad I did! It's fantastic! I'm especially loving 'Don't Need The Sunshine' at the minute.

One of my main reasons to buy that album was also because of Road Rage (and also because of that half year I spent in Oviedo, Spain, etc.). Her accent in that song (the 'r' in Rage)...

I just got back from a weekend in London. Today I went on a small bender while in Camden. I came home with:

Blur - The Best Of (incl. live bonus CD)
Neil Finn - Try Whistling This
The Finn Brothers - Everyone Is Here
Madonna - Ray Of Light
Madonna - Music
Manic Street Preachers - Everything Must Go
Moloko - Things To Make And Do
Pet Shop Boys - Very/Relentless
R.E.M. - Reveal (limited edition in special packaging)

All under 35 quid!

And when I came home I found on my doormat:
The Jam - All Mod Cons & Sound Affects (MFSL gold CD)
Mother Love Bone - Mother Love Bone

I think I'm going to listen to plenty of music in the coming week(s). :)

(edited to add): I almost forgot (how could I!), but of course I also got the new Prince album Planet Earth when I went to his concert on Saturday.

Blur-Blur
Good!;)

BRMC-Baby 81
It grows on you.

Paolo Nutini-These Streets
A very relaxing album to listen to.

Tripping Daisy-Bill
An amazing album that I have been waiting to hear for a long time.

The Lemonheads-The Best of
I love these guys! They are now one of my favorite bands. They are so soothing to listen to.

Bush-Golden State
I didn't like their previous albums a whole lot, but this one to me, is almost as good as Sixteen Stone.;)

Big Wreck-In Loving Memory of...
Good.:)

Jimmy Eat World-Jimmy Eat World
It's kind of boring but it grows on you.

Head Automatica-Decadence
It's really good but it irrates me at times in songs. It's different than Popaganda. I was expecting more powerpop than dance.

Meat Loaf-Bat Out of Hell
Absolutely awesome! It's so fun to dance to!;)

In the used CD shop there were a whole bunch of albums which I still want to buy. And they were cheap too. But I didn't buy them, apart from these:

Ella Fitzgerald - Sings The Duke Ellington Song Book
Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here

Bought these yesterday but forgot to post

Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds - Kicking Against the Pricks
Modest Mouse - Good News For People Who Love Bad News
Johnny Cash - Ring of Fire: The Legend Of
Leonard Cohen - I'm Your Man

My CDs from amazon finally showed up! :hyper:

Kraftwerk - The Man Machine
Recurring Dream: The Very Best Of Crowded House
New Order - Singles
Smashing Pumpkins - Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness

...all stuff I've been wanting to get for quite some time! Lots of CDs for the car now.

I hand the 'You Win!' baton back to you. Excellent choices!

This will probably be the last batch for now. Bought quite a lot of CDs over the past week. I need to slow down a bit, to give everything a good listen.

Anyway, today I got:
Ray Charles - The Birth Of Soul (boxset)
R.E.M. - Murmur (MFSL gold disc)

The National -
smielephantin7.gif
Alligator
smielephantin7.gif

Dillinger - Cocaine in My Brain

Just a nice compilation, only thing I could find of his in store, actually.

(regarding Bossanova) I'm giving it back. :|

I actually like their last two albums a lot more than their earlier releases. Hence my screen name, track from Trompe le Monde and all.

Really, listen to it again. It may not sound like the Pixies you're used to if you've only listened to their 80's stuff, but it's extremely solid throughout. "All Over the World", "Dig For Fire", "The Happening", "Velouria"... by God, why would you give away that? It's a great album!

While I was away I bought:
Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers--Greatest Hits
Spoon--Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga (bonus edition)

I haven't been buying too many CDs this year because I haven't been working full-time, but I think I'm going to use my new job as an excuse to stock up, especially since I'm going to spend 2+ hours a day in the car 3 days a week.

Few things actually-
Cary Brothers- Who You Are
Silversun Pickups- Carnavas
Maximo Park- Our Earthly Pleasures
Tuatara- East of the Sun

The National - Alligator
Editors - An End Has a Start
Belle & Sebastian - The Boy with the Arab Strap

I recently got some awesome Daniel Lanois songs on i-Tunes.

My favorites are "I Love You," "As Tears Roll By," "Fire," "The Maker," and "Sometimes." He definitely has U2 infulences and I want as much people as possible to experience how great his music is.
