Please do not panic, tickets are not on sale yet, I just thought I'd start the thread because while there is a rumor about 4 of the 6 headliners, The Strokes have been confirmed Turn It Up: Strokes confirmed for Lollapalooza, new album due in September , and I'm pretty jazzed about that.

Other 4 rumored headliners:

Soundgarden
Lady Gaga
Arcade Fire
Green Day

And the 6th headliner is up in the air with the rumors ranging from Flaming Lips, Phoenix, Beastie Boys (at this point 99% UNLIKELY) all the way to REM (which for the life of me I can't understand that rumor)

Lollapalooza 2010 will be August 6-8th and tickets will probably go onsale late this month/early next

Lollapalooza 2010 : August 6-8, 2010 : Grant Park : Chicago, IL

ETA: other "semi-confirmed" bands

Drive-By Truckers
The Cribs
X Japan!
Yeasayer
The xx
Dirty Projectors
Cut Copy
Hot Chip

And other straight up rumors:
Hockey
Pearl Jam
Them Crooked Vultures

Something about the combination of The Strokes, Arcade Fire, and Gaga really gets me excited. Maybe it's that they're all so different, maybe it's that I really like all three (especially The Strokes), I don't know. That's just a very interesting and kick ass headlining trio to me. I can't wait for this shit.

Why don't you understand the R.E.M. rumor? I mean, I don't think they'll be there, but they've been in the studio working on a new album so it's entirely possible they'll be ready to tour by August.

Gaga, Dirty P, xx, and Cut Copy? Awesome already.

Considering Arcade Fire just announced their first date of the year, Oxegen Fest in Ireland in July, I wouldn't rule them out of Loller.

Oh, well then that makes a bit more sense lol. I did not quite cotton on to that piece of info.

The original rumor about the 5 headliners came from several different sources, and with the Strokes having been confirmed, I'm beginning to believe that they are going to, in fact, be the headliners.

A lot of people over on the Lolla board are beginning to think that there will not be a 6th headliner and that Green Day will perform unopposed. General consensus also seems to be that Phoenix is just not a big enough act to headline (which is what the rumor is) and that they will likely close out the opposite stage the night Green Day is to perform alone. Just passing on a hypothetical.

Strokes, AF, and Gaga better not be opposite eachother on any of the nights.

The real news of the thread, though, is that apparently Jules says the album will be out in September. Boner, I have one.

Another running theory is that it will be Soundgarden Vs. Gaga and Strokes vs. Arcade Fire. I has a sad on the later.

Damnnnnnnnn, me too. I'd opt for the Strokes, on general principle, but I really hope that's not how they line it up.

I'm having a hard time deciding (even though right now this isn't even a confirmed lineup or anything) because I've never seen either band, and while I'd rather see Arcade Fire, I'm far more likely to see them in a solo concert than I ever am to see The Strokes, ya dig?

Yeah, I've seen the Strokes already, have never seen Arcade Fire. AF's music lends itself better to a big festival setting. So it actually will be a tough decision if this is actually how it goes down.

But they are Canadian. And assholes. And none of them are as good looking as Fabrizio Moretti. Love me that ol' Funeral album, though. God damn.

I would have no problem with either of those conflicting schedules. That lineup almost makes me want to plan a trip to Chicago.

perryfarrell Lollapalooza announces her line up- April 6th in Chicago at the Debonair Social Club. Etty are going to fly out for the evening.

That's usually when tickets go on sale, right?

I've more or less decided to attend Lolla this year to make up for last year's health debacle.

I'd have no problem with the aforementioned conflicts (Soundgarden and Arcade Fire for me, no contest).

You're going to be really disappointed when Cornell doesn't play anything off of Scream, man.

You know, every single song of his post-Soundgarden career means shit to me, including the stuff with the insanely poorly titled Audioslave.

But I liked Soundgarden a lot back in the day, and, never having seen them in concert, I'd like to now. I'm not expecting anything amazing, just would be neat, for me.

Ok, tickets apparently go on sale on the 30th of this month.
Advanced 3-day will be $190, once those are sold out, tickets will be $215 a piece for 3-day.

Managed to snag advance 3-day passes, Gaga fans be damned.

Still waiting to find out if the lineup is even worth half of what was spent.

I thought he did a really good job on the first Audioslave album, actually. His voice sounded great, and a number of the songs were quite good.

Cheeky bastards, but this all but confirms that the six headliners are:

Phoenix being a headliner is...interesting.

I need to figure out if I want to drop the $190 right now.

And that lineup with just the o's filled in is funny. I like how people are trying to guess on the ones that are completely blank. They've probably got a lot of them right.

But, man, that's such a coup getting Gaga there. That shit is gonna be awesome.

IF all of those bands are right, there are about 20 of them I want to see, so I think buying the tickets without knowing the line up was worth it in the end.

the line up for this, and coachella, make me bitterly, utterly, totally depressed. Coachella's before our trip, Lolla is after.

who of you are going to Coachella by the way? it almost could not possibly have a better line up.

deadmau5 ... MSTRKRFT ... tiga ... felix da housecat ... jack beats?

do yourselves a favour, get out and see these DJs. they're fucking terrific.

As more letters come out, this lineup is looking more and more solid. It even includes Certified Fresh Impy SXSW Discovery™ Warpaint.

So with the Coachella lineup already being fantastic, Bonnaroo being a bit of a disappoint, and this being released tomorrow but looking excellent, it'll be interesting to see what happens with ACL after two straight down lineup years.
