2011 dwindling down in what an awesome year it's been so far. Believe it or not, I've only been to one legitimate concert previous to this year.

Just got back from seeing Death Cab and Telekinesis. I've seen Death Cab three times, and I don't remember them being so sloppy as tonight. I cringed during a couple of songs. But I got a pretty sweet setlist, so I'll take it.
 
I went to see "Sir" Bob Geldof yesterday evening, it was his 60th birthday. He played our beautiful Imperial Theatre here in Vienna, which is always a special location. It was an awsome concert and also very funny at times. It was interesting seeing so many young people which is not usually the typical Viennese theatre audience. He played a lot of old stuff and many songs from his latest album. The band was also very cool. One funny moment was when, after playing I don't like Mondays, he said to the audience: You can go home now. Two hours and you get only one song you know.

Great show, and he still looks cute for his (very old) age.

I can't really stand the song because they play it on radio all the time and it's basically the only Boomtown Rats song they're playing.

It was nice when he played it live, but I enjoyed his other songs more, including the new stuff which I hadn't heard before.
 
2011 concert season over, highly unlikely I'll be going to another one this year. :sad: In terms of upcoming concerts here, not interested in seeing Marc Anthony, Ricky Martin, or Britney Spears. Plus, too expensive.

Crazy concert week. The Foos were great. 3 freaking hours! Oh and Dave filled in on drums for their opener Cage the Elephant. That man has unreal energy. The Clinton Foundation show was also amazing. Loved Stevie Wonder, Juanes, Gaga and Bono and Edge.

So at the last minute I scored a ticket to Foster the People. Those tickets were in ridiculously high demand. Foster the People is a lot of fun live. Funnily enough the only song of theirs I didn't like live was Pumped up Kicks. Helena Beat was amazing live.

My bank account is now forbidding me from going to more shows. We shall see how long that lasts.

The Sting show last night was good, but very low key. I still had a lot of fun, despite being screamed at by an usher for taking photos.:giggle:

My "headliner" was Real Estate.
I hadn't been overwhelmed by their studio product, but they brought a great vibe live. Smooooooove. I'd recommend seeing them.
