LCD Soundsystem: One Thread Is Never Enough

If you go to FYF, at least you'll have company.

I'm snatching up passes the moment they drop.

What I don't understand about LCD Soundsystem, as much as I love them, is where all this hyper-enthusiasm about the reunion is coming from. I saw them probably not more than 6 months before the "retirement" show, and maybe half the room was full. Then all of a sudden they are wildly popular for a supposed final gig and into a reunion. Where the hell were all these fans during the band's first run is my question.

Sometimes I can be pretty clueless. I still want to go to Denver rather than FYF.
FYI They do sell one day passes for FYF. They should go on sale Friday.

That said, LCD at Red Rocks would be incredible, so I understand the conundrum.

Also, I appreciate festivals that offer payment plans.

Speaking personally, I was in college and didn't have a car.

I've seen this expressed a few times. I was gonna post a tweet I saw but the bloke is a massive wanker and I don't want to give him more exposure. But yes, they're almost at a mythical point now. I suspect had they not done the song-and-dance five years ago and just said they were taking a break for a bit it wouldn't be like this.

It'll take a better war to kill a college man like you.

Do you have a template for this post, just entering the band name and date details every time?

this was a honest post and you need to be aware that Im pretty ignoring about music, despite the fact that I am fan forum of a band.

It makes it difficult not to see the retirement and reunion as a PR stunt. That's totally fine by me if it was Murphy's intention, and good on him for drawing more attention to his worthy project, but I definitely understand the cynicism in some places.

Yes, I feel the same. Not that I really care given how much I love them, but I wonder if it's the reason why we've heard nothing about new music since January.

Yeah, but I think the band and their final album took on legendary status after they disbanded. I think a lot of people got into that last album well after the fact.

I don't know about that. More probable is the "I was there" hipster-cred mentality he lampooned on Losing My Edge played out for his own band. And then fucking Aziz Ansari showed up and all of a sudden Murphy is a cultural icon.
