The science of measuring drug levels post mortem is extremely flawed. The fact that the blood stops circulating throws off concentration levels. Plus there is no scientific means to measure their tolerance factors(which they can for living patients). Now compile that with the fact that blood was lost and the body lay for three days and there is almost no way in hell to get an accurate tox screen. In fact I'm suprised they even claim they have one at all, usually they just state what was found and not how much in bodies older than 48 hours. So I don't believe it's a smoking gun at all.
BVS, please tell me you work in this field or I am going to start being very afraid of you.

I dated a girl that was a forensic scientist and she would love to point out all the flaws in CSI, Law & Order, etc...

Just curious - do you know for a fact that degradation would occur after death, or are you making a guess? A layperson could also guess that maybe the levels would remain consistent with the time of death, considering that the drug is no longer being metabolized.

I have no idea. But it is a little odd that in a very complete rundown of the "facts," and with all the studies cited, that this PI didn't address anything about that.

Especially since he cited an article written by someone else entirely saying the same things about the heroin level and how 'dead men don't pull triggers'.

You have to wonder if a girl like that would be testing your sheets weekly for someone else's DNA.

Kim Gordon has been saying Cobain was murdered for years. I don't think it's impossible, though it's not something I've really given much thought to. But when Kim Gordon speaks, I listen
