i have far too many negative comments that i want to make, so i think i will keep them to myself for once.

I love Let it Be. That was beautiful. I loved how into it the Obamas were. Michelle was stunning as always.

I saw the No Doubt performance too. I am also convinced that Gwen Stefani took that potion from Death Becomes Her, she just doesn't age.

yeah I know the woman is ageless.. I liked David Grohl and Nora Jone's performance too.

I think Let it Be and Hey Jude are both inherently cheesy songs, so I can't really get offended by this. If Paul liked it and I got a chuckle out of it, everyone wins.

But let's get down to what really matters, the important stuff:

It was an awesome show but obama is not kool at all! He's an idiot, liberal socialist!

What a terrible performance. So cheesy, and the lazy blues scale chords thrown in during Mavis' portion just ruined it. By the time they got to that aborted foetus of a fudged guitar solo, it was sunk. Paul is known for his cheesy side, but this was bad enough to make Bluebird seem like a death march.

Perfect example of how to ruin something wonderfully simple with a bunch of tacked-on bullshit.

So disappointing when you consider how wonderful the Springsteen tribute was last year.

as much as i hate sting, he actually did a decent job. and while usually epic choirs like that just tend to irritate me, that one just makes sense.

but i really want to smash that guitar over james taylor's head.

oh this thread is so much fun.. Glad I started it.

I guess this thread gets a big ! I did not see the Kennedy Center Honors this year, but I did see a performance, which I think was from 2009, of him performing as well as other guests performing on stage from the White House the other night on PBS and I quite enjoyed it. It also made me realize I should have just shelled out the money to go see him at Piedmont Park when he performed here in the summer of 2009.
