Well, I'd say that Perfect symmetry, just like UTIS, has got its weak moments, but also many totally mindblowing moments. I have to admit that I didn't care too much for the new sound at first, but then I realized that it's the same good old Keane under the "plastic" 80s sound. And it's not like the whole album was full of songs like Spiralling, there's many "traditional" Keane songs too with beautiful melodies. And once I got used to the new sound it has really grown on me. I also have to mention that even though I have always loved Tom's voice, it sounds really good and strong on this album.

I think it's still too early to really compare the albums, but I personally like PS a lot. Only time will tell if it becomes as big and important as the previous albums have become for me.

Oh, and the song Again & Again is my current favourite from PS. I would absolutely love to hear it live!!

I'm listening to this album again...Jesus Christ I don't know what has gotten into me. On the other hand, I happen to have a strong long-running love for Synths and the 80s sound, so that might be it

Did I get a crap copy or are the vocals really harsh on the "sh" and "t"'s?

I simply can't stand that plastic, godawful dated 80s sound. What a crap!

A shame. I have the 2 first albums and they were great. I listened to this "new" 80s crap @ myspace (the whole album) and I didn't like it
Agreed...I took the disk out after the first 2 songs....some day this week I will revisit the album and see if I can get past that 80's sound. What the hell were they thinking.

Come on, people, I need to know. It's the difference between buying it or not. Especially since the vocals are shit on the iTunes preview, too....

Wow, the new songs sound great live! Just listened to the 100 Club show from last week and god, I'm *this* close to buying a ticket to see them in London next February.

If anyone's interested in hearing the 100 club show, just tell me, I have it on mp3 file. I can't be the only one around who's totally mad about Keane, now am I?

I'm re-discovering Keane and completely forgot that they have a new album. Just listened to Spiralling, and I can't say I'm a huge fan. It may just need more listens---most of their work has been that way for me in general. I'm glad to hear that it sounds great live---seeing them live last year is what really cemented my affection for them.

i just downloaded the album yesterday and listened to it while walking and it's a grower. I have already heard Spiralling and Lovers are Losing prior to getting it. I have to say it's a departure from their other albums. Very pop, and 80s synth (heavy on this I think) but there are some songs I really like. I think Tom's voice is in great form on this album.
It definitely needs more listens to really say yay or nay.

Ava, I'd love to hear it if you wouldn't mind sending it my way! mandymarie96 @ aol.com

I haven't really had time to give the whole album a proper listen, but 'Spiralling,' 'The Lovers Are Losing,' and 'You Don't See Me' are my favorites. I don't quite get the love for 'Love Is The End.' I was a little annoyed with the deluxe version though, I was thinking the videos would be on the disc. Accessing the videos online isn't of much use for me since I'm on dial-up.

I finally listened to it today. It was ... okay. There were about 2 songs that made me think, "Hey, this is really good" and the rest was very unmemorable.

But that's just upon first listen, so who knows how I'll feel a while down the road.
