This got BNM'd the other day, while receiving some other great press also:

John Talabot: ƒIN | Album Reviews | Pitchfork

And it started tearing up rateyourmusic's 2012 chart, so I decided to check it out. I have a lot of positive things to say about this album, but the variety here is what really sets it apart. It's not purely house, nor ambient pop, nor UK dubstep, but it has some elements from all of them, and it's refreshingly brief. Plus, it feels a hair more exotic and unusual than most of the house hanging around at the moment.

It's early, but of the electro releases I've heard this year, I like this one the most.

I listened to a couple tracks from this the day the review came out, and wasn't head over heels with them (Tearz 4 Fearz), but remember liking them decently enough. I'll have to try to Spotify it sometime soon.

I've listened to this album twice already and I really enjoyed it. There are a few great tracks like the opener but there are also a few quite generic ones. It's good, and like you said, exotic sounding "background" music. That's not necessarily a bad thing though.
