Iron & Wine - The Shepherd's Dog

The friendliest place on the web for anyone that follows U2.
If you have answers, please help by responding to the unanswered posts.
More like the Woman King EP than anything, which is certainly not a bad thing.

The songs are beautiful and the album flows better than any I've heard in recent memory. Oh, Sam. You've done it again.

Resurrection Fern = The Trapeze Swinger 2K7

I'm going to up the ante a bit. I don't know why Iron & Wine threads never get a response here, but I think it's time to generate some interest.

If you want to hear this album, I will zip it and email it to you along with I&W's previous LP. No questions asked. Post your emails.

Nice. I've gotta fully digest Kanye and a few others before I listen, but I'll definitely check this out some time.

Thanks for the heads up.

I'd say somewhere between "likely" and "foregone conclusion."

good, I feel better then

I haven't had much of a chance to listen to Sheperd's Dog yet (my stupid work computer wont let me install winrar :grumpy: ) but I will listen to it at home this weekend and have my impressions for you on Monday...

I guess the beard signifies complete awesomeness. Those are two of my favorites in their respective fields.

Why, Paul, why? Fred Clause? For real real?

Alright, I've been listening to this album religiously for the past two days and I'm really enjoying it...

I like the fact that he keeps adding layers to his sound with each additional album. The Creek Drank The Cradle sounds almost acoustic compared with this one.

My favorite track so far is Resurrection Fern.

I'll have to pick up the CD and check out the Abq. show. So far I haven't heard anything by him that I didn't like.

I just saw their show at the Paramount in Oakland last night. It was probably the most gorgeous set of music I've ever heard live. Beautiful arrangements (especially the updates of his older more acoustic stuff) and a mesmerizing performance. The sense of intimacy and care put into the music was breathtaking.

It might just be one of my favorite concerts ever.

That's good news. I loved I&W at ACL Fest last year and get my second helping in a mere ten days.

Also, this is the third (maybe even second) best album of the year.

I love this album
and will definitely keep my eyes open for any possible dates around here

Yeah, an excellent album.

Our Endless Numbered Days was a little too sparse for me, but on Shepherd's dog they really hit the perfect balance of instrumentation

Fantastic show. The evolution of each of those songs live is wonderful. I can't believe this thread only has two pages.
