I think my list had Station to Station, Ziggy Stardust, and Space Oddity.

Space Oddity's solid and I like it more and more upon each listen.

There's also Lovefunk Jones to consider.

Ziggy made my list too but Outside was the top Bowie album on my list. So underrated.

#26 The Doors - The Doors

The only good album The Doors ever made. w00t!

Quote:
If Jim Morrison had been replaced by a singer/song writer with vocal chops and a sound mind this would be a ten star album. But little Jimmy is the lead singer-He stinks. A dull monotone singer who is proof a dull mind can't be expanded taking mind expanding drugs. The worst of the worst is "The End!" It is such drivel! They should put the lyrics and poetry of little Jimmy on toilet paper! The back up band is top notch! They should have had a better boss. Check out their spot on "Light My Fire".

The Doors are hands down the most overrated group in the history of rock.
Quote:
Jim Morrison was a poet, just like Vanilla Ice.

No one over the age of 16 has any right to enjoy or even tolerate anything on this album. Possibly the most negatively influential group ever, although my rating is not based on that so much as on the fact that it sucks.
Quote:
Let put things straight, I hate the Doors. I was offered this album years ago, never listened to it, because I knew perfectly what was on it. About everybody around me just loved the Doors, not me, sorry. Though it's true that lyrics are brilliant (that's why I just gave a 1), but if we're talking about Rock'n'Roll and not poetry, then I dislike all the rest. Their music, to me, is like bad and sad circus music, very boring (just listen the one and only bassline Manzarek can do with his keyboard all along this LP). These guys showed the way to ugly prog-rock, thank god the Stooges destroyed all this for a while.

No Bowie albums made my list. He failed the death growl criteria.

"Who buys U2 records anyway? It's just music for plumbers and bricklayers. Bono, what a slob. You'd think with all that climbing about he does, he'd look real fit and that. But he's real fat, y'know. Reminds me of a soddin' mountain goat."
"And as for Bono, he needs a colostomy bag for his mouth."

Penny Lane and Strawberry Fields Forever were both singles, right? Or one single? and just later popped on the album?
Magical Mystery Tour was just an EP in the UK with "I Am the Walrus," "Fool on the Hill," and some other tracks, then for the US release, it was a full album with "Strawberry Fields..." and "Penny Lane" (which were only singles in the UK) included.

They were released as a double-A side single, then were put on the album later.

I'm going to out myself now on this one, since I can't remember if Little Earthquakes was on my list or not, but it's the ONLY album of hers I like.

Be kind, now - "Strange Days" and "Waiting for the Sun" are excellent as well.

As for Bowie, why no appreciation for "Aladdin Sane"?
