In the midst of this OMG WHERE IZ DIZINTUGRAYSHUN furore, I am disappointed that both Faith and Pornography have missed out on the list entirely.

#9 - The Beatles - Revolver

Irishteen made three alters to get this album up here.

The Beatles are among the most overrated bands ever. No one seems to realize that a lot of bands have made a lot better music since Revolver, or even that albums like Blonde on Blonde, which came out at the same time, are so much better that the Beatles should be ashamed of themselves.

I heard this album for the first time the other day. Have they no shame. Basically their another Oasis rip off band. Listen to Whats the story morning glory to listen to the original and best!!

i once read some right wing demagogue article about the best "conservative rock" and Taxman was used as a prime example. I'd go him one better and say all this stuff is conservative rock.

eleanor rigby is kinda cool tho.

All this talk of the greatest band ever...get a life. Westlife kill these guys every time. Songs are weak and the production is dull. Flying without Wings does and says more in one song.

The Beatles had a good Manager and producer who knew how to make the dough. Who and what the Beatles were is so Obvious, they were idiots who did what they were told to do for the Image. I mean think about it listen to there Music. Did these guys over dubbed a boat load or what? of course they did listen to it. I would like to hear the Beatles live in concert, they would sound like what they are CRAP. Some say SGT Peppers is the greatest album ever made, maybe the best studio gimmacks ever made, it was so over produced and wasn't them. I give it props on having excellent studio sound for it's time. When you hear Paul, John, Ringo, George singing you are not hearing them, If Paul sings solo on a song, they over dub his voice oh about 3-6 times and put it together to get that strong sound to actually make you think the Man can sing. Ringo's drumming, Pausing for a good laugh, ok Ringo I have heard better drummers back when I was in high school in Band, that isn't a joke either just the truth. John Lennon, he does have a pretty good voice I will give him that, he is to artisy for me though, this is music not your own view of the World. The 1960's are over People get over it, it is the past, live in today.

TUF has either NOT made the list, or it's better than Revolver...I'm going to cry either way.

I find it funny that Arcade Fire are indie everywhere in the world except Ireland we're they're insanely mainstream

Dozens of commercials with their songs in them
A Double Platinum Album
Hit Singles
Selling at 10,000 capacity venues in minutes with 50 euro tickets

They're insanely mainstream

They certainly have gotten huge faster than even they probably would have liked, but they're still pretty much no names for your average person. Regardless, they are an indie band, Merge honestly didn't even push them at first, you seriously could NOT find the album anywhere when it was released in 2004. Love or hate em, Pitchfork completely made Arcade Fire.

That all said, it still saddens me to think this is going to be the most highly rated indie album on the list, when I could name numerous indie albums from just the last 8 years that didn't even make the 100 list that are far more impressive, enjoyable, important.

Oh wellz. I realize the U2 head nod certainly would have affected the ratings here vs. what it would look like on other sites.

I would have put The Shins way higher than Arcade Fire, for example...and I like Arcade Fire.

I honestly like Arcade Fire, not because they're indie but because I checked them out on my own and enjoyed what I heard.
