I didn't get too many albums this year, but 2008 wasn't so bad.

Here's my Top 6:

1-REM- Accelerate
2-Guns N' Roses- Chinese Democracy
3-Madonna- Hard Candy
4-Metallica- Death Magnetic
5-Nine Inch Nails- The Slip
6-Beck- Modern Guilt

1. Oasis - Dig Out Your Soul
2. Coldplay - Viva La Vida
3. REM - Accelerate
4. Keane - Perfect Symmetry
5. Metallica - Death Magnetic
6. Madonna - Hard Candy
7. Guns N' Roses - Chinese Democracy

(Top 3 I'm sure about. The others are a little flexible.)

Oasis

As we had already been discussing in the other thread, here's the list of albums that will be fighting it out for the love of my ears and the year end list in the next few weeks:

Bon Iver - 'For Emma, Forever Ago'
Why? - 'Alopecia'
Sigur Ros - 'Med Sud I Eyrum Vid Spilum Endalaust'
Los Campesinos! - 'Hold On Now, Youngster...'
Los Campesions! – ‘We Are Beautiful, We Are Doomed’
M83 - 'Saturdays = Youth'
Shearwater - 'Rook'
The Dutchess and the Duke - 'She's the Dutchess, He's the Duke'
Okkervil River - 'The Stand Ins'
TV on the Radio - 'Dear Science'
Fuck Buttons - 'Street Horrrsing'
Vampire Weekend - self-titled
Fleet Foxes - self-titled
Elbow - 'The Seldom Seen Kid'
R.E.M. - 'Accelerate'
My Morning Jacket - 'Evil Urges'
Coldplay -'Viva La Vida'
Destroyer - 'Trouble in Dreams'
Portishead - 'Third'
Wilderness – ‘(k)no(w)here’
The Gaslight Anthem – ‘The ’59 Sound’
Frightened Rabbit – ‘Midnight Organ Fight’
Deerhunter – ‘Microcastle’
Kanye West – ‘808s & Heartbreak’
Department of Eagles – ‘In Ear Park’
The Bug - 'London Zoo'
Mogwai - 'The Hawk Is Howling'

Ordering and finalizing a list before the end of the year should be illegal.

Sometimes, as people get older, their memories become weaker. Often, they have a hard time remembering what year they're currently living in.

Cori, I know this may be hard to believe, but this album did NOT come out this year:

Damn. I guess that means "Moonlight Serenade" has to come off my "top singles of 2008" list.

Get Well Soon- 'Rest Now You Weary Head'
Deus- 'Vantage Point'

Keane - Perfect Symmetry
Sigur Rós - Med Sud I Eyrum Vid Spilum Endalaust
Ladyhawke - Ladyhawke
Emiliana Torrini - Me and Armini
The Killers - Day & Age
Jenny Lewis - Acid Tongue

Quite a different list than what I'd have predicted a year ago. Too bad both Coldplay and Oasis were such big disappointments to me, although I'm hoping both albums will eventually grow on me.

Don't forget to remove Sing Sing Sing as well.

I don't know how you thought this was up against Britney at the VMAs this year:

YouTube - Gene Krupa- Sing, Sing, Sing

They're great, but unfortunately A Mouthful is a 2007 release.
