I'm about to go on a bit of a Wu-Tang bender here in a minute. 36 Chambers and Liquid Swords back-to-back.

currently playing
wutang's 36 chambers and a soda maks a rivetting combination,
the jams are so badass you don't even need anything else to elevate it,
music does it on its own, plus i like caffeine.

and perhaps a more embarassing moment is that
i recently discovered The Streets, and at first it didn't have much
response from me besides an eyeroll and then it totally grew on me
it was difficult to take seriously at first, but now I am curious to hear
other albums since I only have Original Pirate Material,
which ic probably not appropriate for a thread with the word
purist in it, but fuck, album is quite captivating

Dave and I were discussing a future hip-hop DI mini-game, so I decided to get back to work on a playlist I've been tweaking. Here's what I've got so far:

1. Jay-Z - Can't Knock The Hustle
2. Black Star - Astronomy (8th Light)
3. Outkast - Aquemini
4. Cannibal Ox - Iron Galaxy
5. Spank Rock - Rick Rubin
6. A Tribe Called Quest - Buggin' Out
7. Nas - Halftime
8. Run-D.M.C. - It's Tricky
9. Beastie Boys - High Plains Drifter
10. Madvillain - Figaro
11. Dr. Dre - Nuthin' But A "G" Thang
12. De La Soul - Pass The Plugs
13. Kanye West - Addiction
14. Notorious B.I.G. - Machine Gun Funk
15. Mobb Deep - Shook Ones Pt. II
16. Wu-Tang Clan - C.R.E.A.M.
17. Lupe Fiasco - Kick, Push
18. The Streets - Weak Become Heroes

My friend picked up the Spike Jones music video collection DVD when they were released 4 or 5 years back. I hadn't heard this song until then, and I immediately fell in love with it and the video. I seem to get addicted to it on an annual basis. Been digging it again for the last week or so, figured I'd post the video. (make sure to click on the HQ button for HD)

Hope you enjoy.

Yes! Dude, Fat Lip is the shit. He was in the Pharcyde, who are probably my favorite hip-hop group ever. Their first two albums are amazing and are considered kind of classics in the genre, I think. You should buy them.

I began a look into the wonders of the world of hip-hop this past month. My first four albums:

Kanye West - The College Dropout
Kanye West - Late Registration
Kanye West - Graduation
The Roots - Things Fall Apart

Where do I go from here?
