Man, this is a quality thread. why no more appreciation for 80s pop? Reminds me of being a kid. Theres a LOT of nostalgia in so many of these tunes. I'll post a few. They might not all have the drenched synth atmosphere, but they're solid either way

YouTube - Gowan - A Criminal Mind

YouTube - One more try - George Michael (with Lyrics)

YouTube - VH: Try - Blue Rodeo

YouTube - IDLE EYES - Tokyo Rose

YouTube - Spoons Romantic Traffic

A little Canadian flavour in most of those
I'll think of a few more while i'm listening to the ones you posted

I love a lot of 80s music, but threads like these, with lots of YouTube videos, totally slow up my computer and I get too frustrated to sit and wait for the page to load.

So I'll be with you in 80s-loving spirit.

Someone throw in some a-ha (that isn't Take On Me) for me.

the good thing about the 80s was that quality bands (U2, Talk Talk, Talking Heads) were easily able to have hit singles

ah, fair enough. I wonder if putting them in titled spoiler tags would help or if they're loaded before hand....Also, no '80s thread is complete with out this!

God I could be here into next week if I posted all my favourite 80s vids, it's when I came of musical age

Loving what's been posted already (except for Yes and Whitesnake, really no call for that! )

YouTube - The Police - Walking On The Moon: Video

Okay, it was technically '79 but I consider The Police an 80's band.

Great 80's = I Ran - A Flock Of Seagulls

That song is so damn good. Huge 80's keyboard sound. And with a stupid video clip to boot.
