Florence & The Machine, Discusion Thread.

The friendliest place on the web for anyone that follows U2.

She's amazing live. I saw them open for Blur before the release of Lungs, and I was sold on their music immediately, as well as her vocals.

Florence and The Weeknd are both playing Lollapalooza, though not on the same day. Weird that there's any connection between those two, but if I saw that bill I wouldn't complain.

I had a chance to see her once... but her tickets were $60 odd and I went to Broken Social Scene instead, which was like $40. No regrets whatsoever.

Now she's playing arenas the tickets are closing in $100... definitely not. But, at least it's the $120 The Black Keys are charging :|

Seems like her ticket prices are all over the place. I was thinking what a great bargain $35 was, then I realized that many other venues seem to be charging much more.

Just scored tickets through a venue presale! Soooooooo excited! :hyper:

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for Friday morning. If I don't win the tickets, I won't be going. Stupid heat pump.

(For those I'm confusing: my heat pump/AC died at the end of last week & it can't be repaired, it has to be replaced. Which means I'm doing n.o.t.h.i.n.g. for the forseeable future. However, I managed to qualify last night for a give-away my radio station is having on Friday morning for her 9.21.12 show in Raleigh. It's my one ray of hope at this point...)

Fuse-5/17at 10:00pm PST., 2:00pm on the 18th; 2:00am on the 19th. That's all I found on my guide. if anyone is interested that is. Probably easier to find online without waiting.

Yeah, there's three price levels at my venue. When I saw her last year the whole venue was $45 after fees. The days of the $30 ticket at a small club are over.

I snagged a couple of seats for the September show. :hyper:

Just watched it. It was a good performance, but I still have the impression that something about them doesn't translate quite right to TV. I guess you can say something to that effect for just about any act (who wouldn't rather actually be at a U2 concert than watching a DVD?), but somehow I feel that's more the case with them. I watched several live performances on youtube before going, and they left me eager to see her but not thoroughly psyched. I was floored by how different the live experience was.

yeah I totally see your point... I can name several bands like this.

I did get goosebumps watching the letterman performance maybe because I am getting psyched for saturday. :D

here's the link tho: Video: Florence and the Machine on Letterman ? Consequence of Sound

I really don't want to deal with Lollapalooza in order to see them again. I'll cross my fingers that they slip in one more Chicago or Milwaukee date before the end of the year.

Did you win?

mind= blown :heart:

will post pics this week. :D

Blood Orange: wtf?? Bizarre vids.. He can sing and play guitar tho.

:D

Yeah, it's not like Blood Orange is devoid of talent, but he's a bit different. There's a couple of funny pics on the Rave's website of the front row staring at him with deadpan looks on their faces.

haha.. I would be one of those deadpan faces along with a wtf face  intermixed with it. Vids had nothing that I could tell to do with the songs he did. Too obscure for basically anyone to get if there was a meaning to them. I mean at one point there was like a porn vid... naked people. And clips from Grease 2.
