Arvo Pärt.

I've gotta learn about him. Modern composers are a mystery to me. :reject:

This is beautiful just searching him on youtube:

YouTube - Arvo Pärt. Fratres. Festina lente.

He has an atmospheric element that reminds me of Mahler and Vaughan Williams.

YouTube - FANTASIA ON A THEME BY THOMAS TALLIS. PT.1.

Makes you want to walk in some English countryside. :cute:

He had a friend, George Butterworth, that had a lot of promise but unfortunately his short career was ended in WWI. At least he left us this:

Here are mine

Sergei Prokofiev : Dance Of The Knights

Yeah I like Prokofiev especially with Vengerov on this recording:

Oh yeah we can't forget Beethoven and Mozart:

Mozart's Requiem is awesome. He has some nice piano music too:

I'm learning about some forgotten composers like Federico Mompou:

and

Bortkiewicz

This Glenn Gould seems like some mad genius:

Beethoven's 9th is pretty cool; as standard an answer as this is, I'm still partial to his 5th. Steve Reich's Music for 18 Musicians is another favorite:

Cool never heard of these guys! I love discoveries.

Awesome! Steve Reich is probably my favorite modern composer. I love me some minimalism.

I adore Debussy, especially La Mer. I could listen to that all day long if I'm really in the right mood.

I've been listening to some Rachmaninoff lately. For a while, I was into opera a lot, Puccini is my favourite. As for symphonies, Brahms' 4th is my favourite.

My classical favourites always depend on the mood I'm in.

The only Debussy I've heard is "Clouds" from Nocturnes, and it's too static for my tastes.

Oh, Clair de Lune is beautiful.

La Mer is amazing, IMO. It's like painting with music. I have all kinds of wonderful images when listening to it.

I adore the music of Vaughan Williams:

Yeah he's got lots:

Cori already posted a work by Faure but I thought this work deserved mention.

Thanks for this. I recognize the melody but didn't know who did it. I've got collection of his Barcarolles which are great.

I also like Satie:
