Dirty Projectors - Bitte Orca

The friendliest place on the web for anyone that follows U2.

It would have been cool and everything, but at the very least, that photo I sent you of me and THE COFF! together is a huge trump card until they tour again. Silver linings. I'll even take a shot of the LP too to prove I met THE DOO! as well. She even drew stuff on it.

There's a photo of you and THE COFF?

I know the whole story, I just thought he made up that photo to get you mad. I was much more focused on the story behind Jeremy photo anyway, since that was more peculiar.

Yep, there is one. Didn't bother with THE DOO! since she seemed kind of pissy anyway.

I've been listening to "Ascending Melody" and "Emblem of the World" constantly for the last few days. They're both pretty good little songs, though I like "Ascending Melody" more.

Tomorrow's finally time for THE PROJ! show too. Should I attempt to get a picture with both THE COFF! and THE DOO!? (and then proceed to brag about it endlessly) This probably won't happen, but it'd crack me up if it did.

You can have Ron Jeremy. What the hell was he doing at a Dirty Projectors show anyway?

Jury's still out. I don't know what he was doing in the middle of Texas on a Monday night. It's anyone's guess. Austin Film Festival was going on then, but I think his typical fare isn't really fit for a screening. One of the best parts about it was the guy who asked me to take a photo for him. He handed me his camera and got ready to take the picture:

Guy: "Hey Ron. How'd you like the show?"

Ron: "Does that girl have a boyfriend?"

You can't make it up.

I'll always that photo with Amber to piss off Laz. Success!

Can't wait to hear how you liked the gig tomorrow.

 Wow. Good to know he's still a horndog, although I can't say I expected anything less from such a well-known porn star.

Can't wait to hear how you liked the gig tomorrow.

Don't worry, there will be plenty of commentary and pictures, I'm sure. I've wanted to see them since Bitte Orca leaked last spring (and had actually just missed them coming through Minneapolis), so I'll be freaking my shit out in the front row the entire concert.

Plenty of folks call artists by their first names here. I'm by no means insinuating THE COFF! and I are chummy enough to pull off such a conversation. Just calling her by her name. Like when people refer to Adam Claycourt as just "Adam."

Are you on a first-name basis with this Adam?

Nope, I've just been psyched about it forever, forcing me to update you all daily on how much longer I have to wait until getting my face melted off by awesome.

I did, indeed, have my face melted off last night. I loved most of the jamming they added, but I agree with Impy, the slowed down "Bitte Orca! Orca bitte!" was anti-climactic. I actually saw somebody in front of me turn around and look at his girlfriend in confusion when they did it. I didn't get a picture with THE DOO! or THE COFF! I fail at life. Oh well. Here's the setlist:

Cannibal Resource
Ascending Melody (holy shit! I freaked out, and was pretty much the only one...'cause nobody else knew the song.)
Temecula Sunrise
No Intention
?
?
Two Doves
The Bride
(technical difficulties)
When the World Comes to an End (so fucking amazing live, the girls' vocal interplay is incredible)
Stillness is the Move
Useful Chamber
Remade Horizon

Fluorescent Half Dome
Knotty Pine

And a few pictures:
