Did LED ZEPPELIN Rip Off A Folk Singer?

this shit is getting ridiculous. it's insane that a songwriter can just sit on a claim like this for decades and then be like "oh hey, i totally wrote this." if it's a song not well-known or some little-known band i could see a delay in making a claim, but we're talking led zeppelin here. and recently someone woke up one day and realised "down under" by men at work ripped off their song. at least there's a statute of limitations for collecting the royalties (in the u.s. at least) should they rule in his favour.

Well, Dazed and Confused, like many of their other early songs, is more of a cover than an original song, but I thought this thing was settled a long time ago.

Wait, I thought it was fairly common knowledge that Led Zeppelin ripped off basically everyone?

A far more exciting thread title would have been "newsflash: a song written in the year 2010 is entirely original."

Which would probably be referring to Rebirth, since nobody would ever have wanted to make that album previously.
