re: khan's list: hardly a shock, but that list did tick a lot of my boxes.

These boxes were not necessarily ticked as you were listening.

I placed GAF first, so I'm very glad to see him get the credit he deserves. Would have rather him be second though, with mine yet to place. :uhoh:

If I've gained a reputation for anything in this competition, it's perfectionism, particularly in regards to sequencing. I tend to spend a lot of time tweaking that facet of my lists, but this entry took that to an extreme; I have been working on this list (on and off) for the past 18 months, and the version of it you see today has been drawn from two other versions, tacking on a few of my recent favorites while taking the best unique choices from its ancestors. The result is, surprisingly, not a mess at all; you couldn't pass this list off as conceptual, but recurring themes of love, loneliness, restlessness and self-discovery pop up now and again. The original version of this list was comically diverse musically, but it has since cohered into something that I feel represents my tastes exceptionally well; if nothing else, this list will give you a reason not to bother with my subsequent entries...at least until I break out my Estonian chillwave list for DI13.

Thanks a ton, guys. If it makes anyone feel better, I spent like 18 months on this list, so the joke is on no one but me this time.

Yeah, had I known top prize was a basketball trophy, I would never have tried as hard as I did.

And another DI is finished. Time to start up a new list?

I'm about half done with one, and we all know Travis has about 20 saved on his computer.

In fact, not going to lie, I watched him make a DI list today. Not like, over the shoulder, but, it was amusing.

haha...I've just always loved way the Larry O'Brien trophy looks, and it was the first trophy that came to mind.

:reject:

Haha, no worries.

It would have been far more amusing if it weren't for the girl in the room.

...Joke away, guys. I just won the fucking NBA Finals.

I think I need to listen to a lot more music I haven't listened to yet before I can actually start. That and my iTunes is still relatively small since I deleted it to upgrade everything to lossless....

I've never actually watched someone make a playlist. I bet it's riveting.
