Welcome to the Third Place Match for Interference Desert Island V! The premise of this game is that all of the Interferencers have been stranded on a desert island and we can only take up to 160 minutes of music with us (either as a continuous iPod playlist or two 80 minute CDs or any other format of our choosing). The object is to see which forum member can fit the most musical goodness into these 160 minutes.

You couldn't have asked for closer semifinal contests.

In the first match, LemonMelon hung on against phillyfan26 by a score of 8-6, while hardyharhar narrowly defeated phanan, 7-6.

Congratulations to our two finalists, and good luck with the final match. But before we get to that, here is the match that will determine who else makes the top three. Below are the playlists for phillyfan26 and phanan.

If you don't know the songs, or wish to hear how each playlist flows, feel free to check out the Desert Island website. :)

UP NEXT: FINAL - LemonMelon vs. hardyharhar

Competition master list.

Have fun!

The quarter/semifinals of DI5 turned out to be very entertaining. There were many blowouts early on, but things have really leveled out, which is cool. Anyway, I'm giving my support to Pfan here; I just find that our tastes are more similar, and that translates to the list. Both of you did a great job, and deserved to reach the final four.

Same to you.

I'm pleased that my list was liked well enough to make it this far. I feel like this is a much better representation of my tastes than my former list.

I would agree with that assessment. You covered a lot more territory this time around, and put it together very well.

For me, things worked out perfectly. As defending champion, I felt obligated to do a good job without necessarily winning again, but still hopefully able to perform well enough to make it to the quarterfinals, and that goal was achieved.

These have all been close lately. That is pretty nice. I gotta go with Pfan here.

I'd go into more detail on my reasons, but I'm too busy pumping my list full of steroids for the finals

We'll take the weekend off, as sometimes not everyone is around, and start the final on Monday, which will be two days long.

Probably wouldn't be a bad time for people to revisit our two final playlists again...
