I'm starting this a bit early because 1) I've already had two people ask for it and 2) it's a US holiday tomorrow and I'm not sure how scarce you guys will make yourselves. As always, listen and comment. Links will be out shortly.

Sweet. I've already listened to two of these. I'll post my thoughts after I'm packed for my vacation tonight.

Everyone that had group 1's lists should also have group 2's now. Check your PM boxes and/or email addresses.

Holy shit. I have an unused playlist that was also a tribute to Zoots. Too funny.

I did that after trying to contact him via email about submitting a playlist for the last DI, which I thought would have been fucking awesome.

Alas, he didn't get back to me in time, as it was an older address that he hardly used anymore.

You still going to accept my list even though it's crazy late now? It's done, I was going to put it together and send it off this afternoon, but other things that were way more interesting than re-tagging mp3s came up.

Of course. At this point, the deadline is a week after group 3 is up. I'd like it sooner, but you know.

Of all the songs I used on mine, didn't think this would be one that would appear elsewhere, unless it was Ax's.

I wanna say the same thing happened to me in the last DI, except it was "Monkeyland". Weird.

Listened to PFan's list today, and I really enjoyed it.

I really dug the opening trio. Being a life-long Chicago Bulls fan, Alan Parson Project's "Sirius" holds a special place in my heart, and it's a fantastic opener, and it bled right into those Gorillaz and Passion Pit tracks. Great start.

Other highlights for me on the first disc include familiar Animal Collective, Tame Impala, and Arcade Fire selections, and less familiar Bowie and Springsteen selections. I'm a big Bowie fan, but I've never listened to his later period work(save for The Next Day); I've never heard a second of Heathen, but "Slow Burn" was amazing. One of those 'have to stop what I'm doing and just listen' moments. Also really dug "Gypsy Biker", and not being familiar with a lot of Springsteen's catalog, I was surprised to see that it's very recent. Good stuff.

Onto the second disc, someone else used that Danger Mouse track "Black", but I don't mind hearing it again at all. I dig Norah Jones, so it's an enjoyable track for me. "Reckoner" has always been my favorite track from IR, and its presence makes any list better, imo. I obviously love Stay. The Beach House, Girls, Cat Power, Washed Out, and Chromatic tracks were all welcome discoveries, and I'll need to check those artists out more if the rest of their output is comparable. Especially Beach House and Washed Out, those were some really beautiful, melodic, melancholic songs. "Country Feedback" is a classic and I felt its placement fit very well here, sort of slowing the whole list down a little as it prepares to conclude. I loved Lykki Li as a closer. I was already intrigued by her, and this is the second song of hers I've heard so far in this DI, and I'm getting drawn in. I think I'm developing a crush on her. Anyway, really liked this song, the sparse, naked nature of it. The one negative thing I'll say is that while I usually enjoy the Flaming Lips very much, this particular song, "Watching The Planets", didn't do as much for me as the Lips usually do.

A lot of good selections, and a good flow, made for an overall really pleasant listening experience.

Also, I thought I'd be the only one to use Zep's "Tangerine", but it looks like Travis used it too. That's ok though, 'cause it's a truly great song and it deserves to make multiple appearances. On some days, it's my very favorite Zeppelin song. I think when I got the Zeppelin box set, it might've been the very first track I listened to to see how it sounded in comparison to the pre-remaster version I'd heard before. Love it.

That whole third LP of theirs is really under-appreciated, I feel. It's sooooo good.

:hi5: Underrated classic.

Several songs from Peef's lit are requiring me to enter some iTunes password? It pulls up Peef's Apple ID and says my computer is not authorized to play songs he purchased.

nevermind, pretty sure i figured it out. we'll see if i run into the same issue as peef's with the lead song off mine (there are two that might be an issue, but i doubt that the second one will be a problem).
