I still remember that day, being all of 10 years old. I specifically remember my mother receiving Time Magazine a few days later with that cover of him and thinking how sad it all was.

I'm not really sure you can call the day John Lennon was killed a "holiday", but it definitely is a day of remembrance.

It's a shame John and Jim didn't see the year 2008. Maybe the world would be better for it.
