What about all the re-release bonus tracks? I didn't see Bombers listed on the Non-Album List.

You're right. I'll quickly compile a list.

Screwtape, I'm currently working on the master list and introduction. I'll send it to you when I'm finished, then I'll post that.

I'll make the album voting a separate thread.

Okay. Then I'll let you handle the remastered bonus tracks. That sounds good.

Just been browsing BOWIENET, interesting item caught my beady eye;

BOWIE'S 30 GREATEST SONGS IN UNCUT NEXT WEEK

A couple of songs from your old scrapbook...

Well the headline and the above advert say it all really.

The June issue of UNCUT magazine has a Bowie cover and a large feature, within which the magazine attempts to identify David Bowie's thirty greatest songs via the opinions of thirty music world luminaries.

It's an impressive list of contributors, from David's own contemporaries such as Jimmy Page and Keith Richards, via chubby little losers like Ricky Gervais, to relative new boys such as Alex Turner.

There are some very cool choices and a lot of lovely things said about David in the feature, but sadly we're not allowed to give you any more detail than that right now as we don't want to kill UNCUT's own online exclusive which will publish all of the contributors along with their choices, once the mag is published.

The magazine will also include the CD: REBEL REBEL: A tribute to David Bowie, which does what it says on the tin.

The June issue of UNCUT hits the shelves on April 24th and subscribers' doormats shortly before.

Don't know what the top 30 would be, but its been a while since I last compiled a top 30 BOWIE, so here's mine.

01. Heroes
02. Ziggy Stardust
03. Stationtostation
04. Quicksand
05. Always crashing in the same car
06. Moonage Daydream
07. The Speed Of Life
08. New Career In A New Town
09. Sweet Thing/Candidate/Sweet Thing
10. Cygnet Committee
11. Teenage Wildlife
12. Space Oddity
13. V2 Schnieder
14. The Secret Life Of Arabia
15. Warzawa
16. Loving The Alien
17. I Would Be Your Slave
18. Velvet Goldmine
19. Be My Wife
20. Sound & Vision
21. It's No Game, Pt1
22. Seven
23. Golden Years
24. Life On Mars
25. The Width Of A Circle
26. Lady Stardust
27. Lady Grinning Soul
28. Time
29. Red Sails
30. My Death

on another day it will look very different.

BTW, Morrissey's new single will include a cover of Drive In Saturday on some formats.

for pfan-

My take on Station to Station:

Station to Station - excellent tune, kinda long, but wel worth it. 8.5/10
Golden Years - always one of my favs - 10/10
Word on a Wing - brilliant. 10/10
TVC 15 - Cool Tune, but kinda goofy. 7/10
Stay - Solid, I like the little jam at the end. 8/10
Wild is the Wind - Nice. I dig it. 9/10.

All in all I give it 8.75 out of 10. I still like Space Oddity better, then Ziggy, but this has moved into 3rd.

Great album, indeed.

He's been out of town for a week and is coming back soon. Before that though, no idea what happened.

I'm not overly keen on the second half, but it could just be my faovurite. But picking a favourite Bowie album is liking the old cliche about choosing favourite children.

Watch That Man, Aladdin Sane, Panic in Detroit, Drive in Saturday, Time, Cracked Actor and Lady Grinning Soul are incredible, Jean Genie, Let's Spend the Night Together and Prettest Star a bit less so.

I own: Hunky Dory, Ziggy, Aladdin Sane, Low and Heroes.

Where should I go next? I don't think there's much more Ziggy/Aladdin-type stuff is there?

You should get Outside. It is his best album in my opinion.

The album is my favorite of his, and the title track is my favorite song of his. Glad you dig it.

My top three is similar:

1. Station to Station
2. Space Oddity
3. Ziggy Stardust

I for the most part forgot about the David Bowie Survivor, and the few times I remembered I didn't manage to pick it up again. I may try when I get home for good on Sunday.
