Aladdin Sane growing on me already... Watch That Man is insanely catchy, especially the chorus. Panic in Detroit and The Prettiest Star are my two least fav so far.

Lady Grinning Soul

Panic in Detroit is so damn good. Sucks that you don't like it as much as the rest.

The Prettiest Star is indeed the worst song on Aladdin Sane.

Panic In Detroit is incredible though.

Aladdin Sane is an odd album. It was really hit-or-miss for me the first time I heard it and I've grown to like it more now.

I'd rank them:
1. Panic in Detroit
2. Watch That Man
3. The Jean Genie
4. Cracked Actor
5. Time
6. Let's Spend the Night Together
7. Lady Grinning Soul
8. Drive-In Saturday
9. Aladdin Sane
10. The Prettiest Star

BLASPHEMY.

1. The Jean Genie
2. Aladdin Sane
3. Watch That Man
4. Panic In Detroit
5. Cracked Actor
6. Drive-In Saturday
7. Time
8. Lady Grinning Soul
9. Let's Spend The Night Together
10. The Prettiest Star

This album is an easy 9/10. The only songs that don't blow me away are LSTNT and Prettiest Star.

Reassesment:

Watch That Man 4
Aladdin Sane 3.5
Drive-in Saturday 4
Panic in Detroit 3.5 (growing on me very quickly)
Cracked Actor 4
Time 4 (not a fan of that cabaretish start though)
The Prettiest Star 2.5
Let's Spend the Night Together 3
The Jean Genie 3.5 (overrated)
Lady Grinning Sould 4

I kinda agree with philly. That solo isn't exactly awe-inspiring for some reason...

OK, when do we start the David Bowie Song Survivor?

AND ... do we include all of his albums?

Fucking DO IT.

Don't include every album though. We could do 1969-1980 or 1969-1980 with a few choice albums here and there.

I think if we skip:

David Bowie
Pin Ups
Let's Dance
Tonight
Never Let Me Down
...Hours

Most people wouldn't mind.

Although I'm not a fan of Let's Dance, it does have a few songs worth inclusion in any kind of poll.

The others...not so much.

I suppose that makes sense.

I was questioning Black Tie White Noise, Buddha of Suburbia, and Earthling, but I've seen positive remarks about them. Up to you guys.

I'm fine either way but it wouldn't hurt to include Let's Dance.

Alright, so we'll do everything except:

David Bowie
Pin Ups
Tonight
Never Let Me Down
...Hours

Earthling is in. We just need to decide on BTWN and Buddha of Suburbia.

Tonight has Loving the Alien and Bowie has When I Live My Dream, which are both pretty good tracks. I'm in favor of ditching albums entirely, but can a few songs be saved for their own round?

How about this:

We skip-

David Bowie
Pin Ups
Tonight
Never Let Me Down
BTWN
Buddha of Suburbia
Earthling
...Hours

And a few of us create a 12 song or so list from those albums as a "Best of the Rest" round.

I'm down with that, how about Labyrinth? He's only got about 4 original songs on that.

That can be included in the Best of the Rest. Magic Dance would probably win that, then.

But how many of them have enough of the albums to make this fun? You don't even have a lot of the albums. At with Radiohead, The Beatles and Pink Floyd it was clear there was enough interest.

Anything related to Labyrinth should win.

I'm getting more day by day, I'll be ready for this when the time comes.

I think this should be fine. If we get 12-15 regular voters and then some occassional voters to add on to that, there shouldn't be problems.

I don't think we would get that many voters. Trust me. You at least need to poll B&C to see what artist people want the next survivor to feature.
